I've never had the "rock star awe" thing and will happily talk to anyone - through one thing or another I've gotten to know a few musicians who walk in Ginger-type circles a little bit. But Ginger himself I've never really had the opportunity to speak to properly. I bought him a drink once, but he was on stage at the time...

I think if you do meet him you'll find him quite down to earth and approachable generally. He genuinely does appreciate the people who continue to support him by buying CDs and gig tickets an enabling him to carry on doing what he does...

I'll second that. The couple of times I've met him he's been nothing short of decent / polite / approachable / funny / chatty, with absolutely no rockstar airs about him whatsoever.

I appreciate he has a bit of a "reputation" for being a little moody, but then again, everybody has their "off" days!
