Here's This Is Only A Problem. Again it's from memory so there might be some mistakes. Let me know if it's useful to you or not ;-)

Code: Select all
Only A Problem:

            E             B
You've been straight with me

     C#m                               A
so I showed something a knew you never wanted to see

    E                    B
You flipped, you freaked out

        C#m                            A
and you didn't hear a thing that I was talking about

  F#m               Emaj7
e-2-----------------4---------
B-2-----------------4---------
G-2-----------------4---------
D-4-----------------2---------
A-4-----------------2---------
E-2-----------------0---------
How can I get you alone?        (x2)

C#m                   A
Tears won't clear the scene

C#m                     A      E
Sorrow won't build me a time machine

    C#m                   A
I'm ten times better than this

               E          B
This is only a problem

    C#m                   A
I'm ten times better than this

               E          B
This is only a problem

    F#
I'm ten times tougher

I'm ten times smarter

    A
The world's gonna have to hit me time times harder

   D           A        E
to stop me

(The guitar bit at the end of the chorus goes a bit like this):

e---0---------------------------------------------------------------------------
B---0---------------------------------------------------------------------------
G---1--------4--3---1-----------------------------------------------------------
D---2--------5--4---2-----------------------------------------------------------
A---2--------5--4---2-----------------------------------------------------------
E-0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guitar solo is a bit like this. Note: I think that Ginger plays it
an octave lower but I'm too lazy to work it out again... this works
tho.

  E               B       C#m             A
e-------------------------------------------------------------14--
B---------9---10--12--9---14--12--14--12--14--12--14--16--17------
G-9---11----------------------------------------------------------
D-----------------------------------------------------------------
A-----------------------------------------------------------------
E-----------------------------------------------------------------

  E                    B                  C#m                   A

B------------------12-------------12--9---12--------9-------9-----
G-------------------------------------------------------11------9-
D-----------------------------------------------------------------
A-----------------------------------------------------------------
E-----------------------------------------------------------------

Middle 8. This has a couple of weird chords which I'll write down
below... I probably don't play them the same as Ginger but they
work...

    C#5
e----------
B----------
G----------
D---6------
A---4------
E----------
But ain't that it

  C/Ab

G----------
D---6------
A---3------
E----------
A hypocrite

     B5

D----4------
A----2------
E----------
Will not admit they're

  Bb/F#
e----------
B----------
G----------
D-4--------
A-1--------
E----------
  wrong

...tears won't clear the scene etc...

Righty Ho then...

Code: Select all
The Man Who Cheated Death

GiNGER

Note: tuned down to Eb

Guitar/piano part.

(Part A)
E ----5-------5-------2-------2-----------3-------|-------|
B --3---3---3---3---3---3---3---3-----3-----3---3-|-------|
G ----------------------------------0---0-----0---|-----2-|
D 0-----------------------------------------------|-2-2-2-|
A --------4-------2-------0-----------------------|-2-2-0-|
E --------------------------------3---------------|-0-0---|

(Part B)

B --3---3---3---3---3---3---3---3-----3-----3---3-|-------|-------|
G ----------------------------------0---0-----0---|-------|---2-4-|
D 0-----------------------------------------------|-2-4-5-|-5-2-4-|
A --------4-------2-------0-----------------------|-2-4-5-|-5-0-2-|
E --------------------------------3---------------|-0-2-3-|-3-----|

(Part A)
[D] [C#/D]  [B]  [A]        [G]
I'm feelin' every feelin' I have today
           [E]         [A]      [D]
I wouldn't have it any other way
(Part B)
[C#/D]  [B]       [A]   [G]
This is more than just a state of mind
     [E]-[F#]-[G]          [G]-[A]-[B]    [A]
It's something new, and I'm leaving you behind

[A]       [G]        [D]       [A]
I've been shook and, I've been shown,
            [G]     [D]    [A]
I wrote the book on being alone
             [B]                      [G]            [D]        [A]
But that was meaningless, 'cause I've never seen the world like this
         [G]            [D]        [A]
No, I've never seen the world like this

            [D]                [A]
Oh when the devil is trying to tempt me,
              [B]                [G]
When there is not a single angel around
         [D]         [A]          [B]                  [E]
When the demons they sent me were guaranteed to pull me down
        [G]               [A]                [D]..
What in heaven or hell is ever gonna kill me now?

(Part B)
..[C#/D] [B] [A] [G] [E]-[F#]-[G] [G]-[A]-[B]-[A]

(Part A)
[D]  [C#/D]    [B]      [A]     [G]
I've seen much more than I ever agreed to see
         [E]          [A]   [D]
But if a lesson comes easily,
(Part B)
[C#/D]    [B]     [A]      [G]
Stands to reason, it'll be lost again
    [E]-[F#]-[G]     [G]-[A]-[B]           [A]
But not for  me,   I take my lessons seriously

[A] [G]     [D]        [A]
Any man can make a mistake
             [G]  [D]       [A]
For every discovery that he makes
                    [B]                        [G]             [D]
It aint about about falling down, it's how you get yourself up off the
[A]
ground
        [G]             [D]       [A]
How you get yourself up off the ground

            [D]                [A]
Oh when the devil is trying to tempt me,
              [B]                [G]
When there is not a single angel around
         [D]         [A]          [B]                   [E]
When the demons they sent me were guaranteed to pull me down
        [G]               [A]                [D](piano riff)
What in heaven or hell is ever gonna kill me now?

(Part B)
..[C#/D] [B] [A] [G] [E]-[F#]-[G] [G]-[A]-[B]

(Widdly Solo Bit)
[A]  [G]  [D]
[A]  [G]  [D]
[A]  [B]
[G]  [D]  [A]
[G]  [D]  [A]

            [D]                [A]
Oh when the devil is trying to tempt me,
              [B]                [G]
When there is not a single angel around
         [D]         [A]          [B]                   [G]
When the demons they sent me were guaranteed to pull me down
           [D]               [A]              [B]
When I was feeling Tired and Empty, without a reason for me being
  [G]
around
       [D]            [A]              [B]                  [E]
When I pray God would lift me from the hell which he lay me down
        [G]               [A]                 [D]
What in heaven or hell is ever gonna kill me now?

What do you want to know? I can play most of the songs off that album but haven't bothered to TAB any of it, except on request... too lazy, you see. If there's something specific then shout and maybe I'll get round to it.

Oh, and I still haven't bothered to learn all of the middle bit of Drinking In The Daytime ;-)

I'd quite like to know Mother City, and Yeah Yeah Yeah, if you could do those that'd be great.

hi there, sorry, I haven't forgotten about writing those tabs out, I just haven't had the chance to sit down with my guitar for a few days. :-( I might try and do 'em from memory later this afternoon on or otherwise will get 'em done early next week.

Here's Mother City. It's from memory so there might be some mistakes, especially the lyrics (ie I'm not sure what half the lyrics are so please correct them if you know them better)... but what a great song :-D I admit that I didn't like this one the first time I heard it and I spent several months not getting the 911 reference. Every time I heard it, I would scratch my head and try to work out what happened when Ginger was 36. Then, all of a sudden, <ding> the penny dropped and I got it. Sends shivers down my spine every time I hear it now...

BTW.I don't know Yeah Yeah Yeah well enough to do from memory so that'll have to wait.... anyway, time for me to go and do some work tihs afternoon, that might be a plan ;-)
