MAY 2009 SOLO TOUR REViEWS **SETLiST SPOiLERS**

Albums, singles, songs and general Ginger banter

York was awesome! Really good time. Hello Vicky P!!!

Setlist was a bit different - the only SG5 songs were Church and Sonic Shake, they played Tenants from MH, the second new song was cut short I think Ginger couldn't hear the vocals in his ear or something. They played Why Can't You Just Be Normal All The Time which sounded way better live than I think it sounds on record. Good times all round!!

To be honest, if there is only about an hour of Ginger, I will probably give Dudley a miss tonight :(

Here's JB's setlist:

We also got Return Of The Northern Cardinal between Casino Bay and This Too Will Pass. I knew you was dropped (probably following the incident), and they played Why Can't You Just Be Normal All The Time? before Sonic Shake. Oh, and backing vox from Vix on Yeah, Yeah, Yeah and Sonic Shake.

You might as well have the solitary other photo I took - I thought I'd get it out of the way before the gig started, so here's Ginger tuning up before the first song.

The incident?

Ah, that'll be when some clever chap decided that throwing his pint over Ginger from about four feet away was a good idea. He was politely asked to remove himself, then forcibly persuaded outside.

There was a borderline case next to me too. He spent half the gig with his back to the stage and the rest of it using me to keep himself upright. I was waiting for the right moment to step out of the way and let him hit the deck, but he never quite leaned on me enough. Image

Funny thing is, if you're talking about who I think you were talking about, he was actually applauding Ginger's comments about people who behave like idiots after he threw the other person out. Strange how people can't see the reality of their own actions.
Still, it seemed like a negative incident actually acted as a catalyst for everyone, band and crowd, to make the most of the rest of the gig, which was a good thing considering some of the criticisms that sometimes get harshly thrown around.

That was an awsome gig; we were stood by the sound desk; best sound Ive heard for..ages; Ginger looked in fine form. New material sounded good; one a bit country and western. Shame about the prick at the front but it didnt spoil the gig. Vix were a bit "meh"; the old line up was better, Laika Dog were excellent, Ill be checking them out.

Really enjoyed the gig last night, saw most of Laika dog and really enjoyed them. Ginger was on good form apart from the incident as Ean calls it. Got to meet Ginger after and have a decent photo taken with him, may upload it if i work out how to do it !
