We all
know that Ginger's solo work is easily
good enough and deserving to be high in the charts, but it's
big money promotion that gets stuff in the charts - without the financial backing and marketing clout of the major record labels you have virtually no chance of getting into the charts regardless of how good your material is. I'm sure Ginger would dearly
love to be able to 'push the boat out a little' on promotion etc, but Round Records is essentially self financed and has no income apart from the small amount trickling in from a handful of Wildhearts/Ginger releases and the money needed for the big promotional push to get a record into the charts simply isn't there.
