My Friend The Enemy riff

Hi,

Quick question that has been bugging me for ages. The riff at 3:19(ish) in My Friend The Enemy. Is it a steal from a previous Ginger song? I find it really really recognisable but have never quite been able to place it....

Cheers
Kris

OK, I'm probably clutching at straws abit with this one, and I don't have my caffeine bomb 12" handy, but in terms of the chords rather than the rhythm, it's a bit like the one at the end of the chorus of 'And The Bullshit Goes On', I suppose...

Interesting Q. "My Friend..." is the best track on VdC IMO. Worked it out with power chords (very unsophisticated...buy hey, rock n roll). I never consciously picked up on any similarities. I'll give it another spin paying closer attention, and get back to you.

Yeah, pretty close. I reckon it's most like the bit just before the bridge at about the 3.30 mark. :)

I'm not sure it's exactly nicked from anything else, but it contains a couple of Ginger's favourite 'changes' so it sounds pretty familiar...
