I'm going, but can't see myself getting there anytime before the gig starts (and I really want to see Tim Smith et al!) Getting excited now, been listening to VDC this morning... Doo doo be doo!

I shall be in attendance and am up for a beer or two before hand. Any preferences where?

Well the Speak Easy is just around the corner from Rock City and has The Wildhearts on the jukebox if my memory serves me correctly

I can NEVER remember the name of that place! Damn good jukebox tho. As good a place for a meet up as any.

Yeah I always mix it up with the Horn In Hand which is next door.

Doors for the gig open at 7.30pm. So I guess 6.30-7 onwards?

4 of us going from Leicester but as we're all working that day, doubtful that we'll be there in time for pre show drinks.

Also, really don't want to miss Tim Smith.

See you all there though!!!!!!

Speak Easy sounds like a good idea - it's rock-friendly at least (and sells dog at half the price that rock city will be selling it for). Did I dream it or did it used to be another scream pub until reasonably recently? Thank god it ain't now...

I belived it actually used to the Horn In Hand, an It's A Scream pub that then moved next door! Go figure!

There's always been the two pubs there (well, for a long time at least. I'm guessing at least one of them was only at the planning stage in, say, biblical times), and I think the Speak Easy has always been the Speak Easy. The Horny Wanker used to be a firkin pub (can't remember which one - there were 3 in nottingham), which got bought up by Scream when Firkin's went down the tube.

But at some point (I think - this is the bit I could be dreaming of) the Speak Easy, which wasn't a Scream, got taken over by Scream, kept the name, and then recently became not a Scream, still keeping the name.

I'd like to point out I'm not feeling 100% at the moment, so I could be spouting crap :)
