Singles/Plans

Postby velvetpresley » 31st Mar 06, 10:11

Now... Because I've kinda thought the Wildhearts have lost their... spark, and I wasn't *that* keen on VLC (opinion now revised on the latter since seeing it live), I haven't been keeping up.

Are there plans for a single from this album? I think we need to get ourselves organised into a streamlined promotion machine, and a Single would be ace to kick that off. What Single would be good? I'd say 'Drinking in the Daytime', simply for the amazing 'that's right, baby it's right' bit, but as a whole, I think 'Yeah, Yeah, Yeah' or 'Mother City' would simply shoot up the charts.

A single needs to happen NOW, I think. There is a lovely warm buzz around the band and I think the climate is right for this.

I understand there is a street team somewhere? Link me, babies.

Street teams (all on myspace)

The Sammy run group - http://groups.myspace.com/index.cfm?fus ... 3929659117

Fan run Sonic Circus promotion - http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... D=47110201

(another) one - http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... D=59045569

Sounds like a great idea, Velv. Much as I love Drinking in the Daytime, I think the British public wouldn't get the song. I don't mean to sound stereotypical at all, but working in Woolworths for 3 years means I've seen the shite people buy. However, Yeah Yeah Yeah has the sort of buzz that is needed to hook people.

Thanks Hannah. Myspace seems a bit rubbish for this kind of activity though. I've only just joined the groups, but... I think a mailing List/Forum is needed so we can focus on the single subject of promotion, rather than having general discussion about the band.

Agreed - Yeah Yeah Yeah is best bet for single. Do the band have any plans?

not to sure if there would be a single coming out cause as soon as the band comes back from the new york show there gonna record a new album , but who knows maybe to keep us going they'll release a single , i do think that 'yeah yeah yeah' would be best suited for it

Most bands only do singles to release before the album to promote it a bit so it seems the time has passed.

I reckon there should be a single, then a re-release of the album in sexier packaging, hammer it out there.

Shovin Shite back up your arse

I agree "Yeah Yeah Yeah" for a single release.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Ginger once say (In Ask Ginger) that re-releasing stuff was "Like shoving shite back up your arse"

A single release is the only way to go for Ginger, get him back in the mainstream where the Wildies were in the 90's, Plus we we would get some pretty new B-sides (dreams of Sky Chaser High).

And of course we'll alll hound Kerrang and Scuzz for the video and our local radio stations too !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, there is a Wildhearts Street Team Yahoo group. Which is fantastic - if you want to receive a bunch of emails about dating agencys and herbal viagra... :?
