Quick Google finds a blog post.. Looks like it's mostly going to be Jason & the Scorchers material.

But probably worth it for CJ and GDW, anyhoo.

"Regarding what Warner E. Hodges is doing, I can tell you guys that he is working on some new material right now and will shortly be gearing up for a festival date in Spain on September 8th where Jason & The Scorchers will play. Following which, he is going to do a 12 date tour of the UK (more dates to be added) in September. His band will be Fenner and Kenny playing mainly JATS songs with some other material some new and some not so new but unheard. Some dates he will be playing with a guy called Ginger from a band called The Wildhearts who is a good buddy of Warner's. Some of those dates will be billed as Ginger & The Scorchers with Jason's blessing."

Gah. I'm not exactly known for bothering to film/photo at gigs. ;)

Will see whether my little camera phone is up to the job, tho.

Had a message from the man himself that these gigs will be him with Warner Hodges etc performing Scorchers songs ONLY (his capitals).

The Warner Hodges myspace shows three gigs with ginger, although only one is selling tickets at the moment so I don't know if CJ and Random are involved with London and Leeds.

Sep 17 2007 8:00P
Ginger and the Scorchers at Manchester Academy Manchester, GB
Sep 18 2007 8:00P
Ginger and the Scorchers at Irish Centre Leeds, West Yorkshire
Sep 19 2007 8:00P
Ginger and the Scorchers at Underworld London

Woot!

Aw, shame. I'm sure a few WH songs could've blended in quite well, but then.. it's not like you can really go wrong with Ginger fronting an alt-country band.

I'd guess the deal is that it's much easier for Ging to learn the bits of songs he'll need to learn, rather than the other 3 guys learning what they'd need to learn.

I have no idea if that made a lick o' sense.
