I hope you're asking that so you can play it at home. Try playing that song in public and you'll probably get lynched!

Well i intended to play it at practises my band is having for an acoustic set at a christian centre to scare them all! as i'm the only member of the band who isn't a devout christian and they all think i'm gonna turn up to the gig dressed like the devil with a crack pipe anyway!

You'll get kicked out for sure - it's just whether or not they call the authorities too...

It will be interesting to hear how this goes.

HWC

My copy of the HWC album arrived yesterday after much deliberation about buying it. I've got to say I enjoyed all of it APART from this track... couldn't stomach it to be honest, will be skipping it next time and can't see the point of putting it on the record.

Child abuse. Not funny.

Just me?

Child abuse: definitely not funny. But nor is nine disabled non-white people on a meathook. And so on. I think the point was that they deliberately went so far over the top as to make it blatantly obvious that they couldn't possibly mean a single word of it. You've only got to look at just how many musicians were involved in its making; that's an awful lot of people to be complicit if they actually "meant it"... I'm struggling to imagine someone like, say, Tim Smith or Vix (to give two examples of players on the record) being misanthropes prejudiced against everything and everyone.

That said, it IS still the one track that makes me feel rather uneasy when I listen to it...

Anyhow, no need to worry - look at the sleeve again - Ginger didn't even play on it, right? :D

'Course not - everyone knows it's one of Willie Dowling's dark moments. :|
