Yup, it was I read it in the checkout queue in Tesco's. 4.5 out of 5 and a glowing review, what it is to have friends in low places!

From The Sun

GINGER - Market Harbour

****1/2

FANS of British rock gods The Wildhearts – and in particular the songwriting of frontman Ginger – have never had it so good.

Not only are a re-energised Wildies back in the saddle, the prolific Geordie continues to pump out at least one solo album a year, as he has done for the last three.

The man is a walking song machine, yet the quality of his output just doesn’t seem to dip.

And, with the ’Hearts taking care of the trademark huge riffs and even bigger choruses, Ginger felt free to really exercise his eclectic muscle on this one.

Clocking in at more than an hour, Market Harbour’s 21 tracks include quirky segues and moody interludes to make one continuous piece of music which is at its very best when enjoyed in one sitting.

It makes for an epic journey as Ginger reflects on past mistakes and looks to the future with strength and optimism.

Along the way we take in all-out rock (Queen Of Leaving, Overeasy), a ridiculously catchy childen’s sing-a-long (You And Me), doo-wop (Couple Trouble) and bluegrass stomp (The Ninns Of Mourning).

Tinged with reflective melancholy (How Hard Can You Make It? and The Perilous Burden Of Prodigal Obligation are both superb examples) it’s somehow uplifting too.

Breathtaking, in fact. MS

I suppose he gave it a 4.5 because to to give everything a 5.0 would somehow make his reviews less credible? I agree with that tactic.
