No Action This Year?

the current doom and gloom surrounding these shores is deepened for me by the lack of ginger action over here....eg new albums/tours......in recent years weve had plenty to look forward to and anticipate at this time of year.....do you think ginger meant what he said in that radio interview many months ago before he went to settle in the US of bloody A about lack of respect and appreciation shown to him over here

I wouldn't read too much into it.

The guys were pretty busy last year. Ginger toured and had another kiddy; the WH released Stop Us..., and played a bunch of gigs worldwide, which doesn't leave much time to write and record a solo album. I'd hope what he has been doing is keeping all his best ideas unused ready for what's happening now - i.e. holing up with the rest of the WH writing the best album they can make.

And then getting on and recording it sharpish (if you wouldn't mind, thanks guys Image).

hmmm....guess ya right ean....pity cos i prefer ginger solo touring with different line-ups....but thats just me bein selfish although i do think ginger must benefit from working with some of the great musicians ive seen him perform with.....but i suppose the wildhearts is a more economically viable project

I thinkwe've also been spoilt over recent years.... we've had VDC, Yoni & MH with a tour or two to promote and WH gigs and albums all in the space of about 4 years. I agree but even Ginger cannae do it all! Bring on more music be it Wildhearts or Ginger. Must admit I missed my January fix of a new Ginger album so I've heavily rotated all 3 again!

I'm the same. The gigs are more intimate and it's always an interesting night seeing who he ropes into touring and playing with him. I really want to see a Sonic Cirucs get together again. That only has a tiny bit to do with the face that Mr Bloom will be there

I've said it before and i'll say it again, but it's pointless as you can't hear me, so...

The Electric tour with Jase, Jon and Denzil/Dean was bliddy amoozing. So if not a ull blown Sonic Circus affair something similar to that will suffice.

(If it were up to me he'd have horns, strings, choirs and harp [blues, jews and upright] for a one off at the Albert Hall)

Something I'd love to see.

He toured solo last year in Manchester the weekend of my birthday - but there was no chance of Mr Ilsa taking me in the proverbial blue fit.

Hate to say this, but my gut tells me it's going to be a bloody long time until i get the opportunity again.

If I knew then what I know now, I'd have gone by myself.

i think one of the problems with sonic circus/ginger solo band is the lack of paying punters at many of the venues and thats a great pity cos the diehard widheart fans dont know what theyre missing. i think thered be more chance of a 4 piece ginger solo tour than sc purely on a financial basis.....but to be honest ive found that format much tighter and it provides a platform for gingers band to shine....ginger certainly seemed to enjoy himself on the occasions i saw them
