Ginger co-penned tunes with Jason & The Scorchers

I had the immense pleasure of seeing Jason Ringenberg in London on Thursday in a tiny venue (plenty of WH fans in attendance). Jason obliged us with One Less Heartache, and also shared the news that Ginger's contributed to writing the new Jason & The Scorchers album - 2 of which he played (one possibly called Mona Lee - can't be sure though). Both songs sounded great. Not sure if these are the only 2, or if there are more.

Jason was also incredibly complimentary about Ginger - citing him as a national treasure, and as possibly the best song-writer he's ever worked with. Strong praise indeed.

Gotta say, in addition to being a fine entertainer with a great voice, Jason's also one of the nicest people I've ever met - a very genuine chap who was also also very humble and had time for everyone.

I will see him in Inverness in a few weeks.
I was lucky to see Jason and the Scorchers in Glasgow last year and it was a blinding gig. And you are right a brand new guy with time to chat to all.
Any idea what other songs he played?

Sorry, struggling to remember as it was a long weekend. A 2 song set followed by a set of requests. I recall that he played the following:

Last Train To Memphis
Bible & A Gun
Punk Rock Skunk
One Less Heartache
Tuskegee Pride
Eddie Rode The Orphan Train
Rebel Flag In Germany
New Fashioned Imperialist
Honkey Tonk Blues
I wanna be sedated
The tractor goes chug chug chug
Lost Highway
and of course, Broken Whiskey Glass

I'm sure there were loads more - as mentioned, two Ginger tracks (Mona Lee plus another one).

When I ordered the Farmer Jason DVD earlier this year, Jason slipped a note in the package that said: "Wait till you hear the new Jason & The Scorchers CD. Ginger helped write most of the songs!"

So it sounds like he lent a fair hand. The record, titled Halcyon Times, is due out next year.
