Cameras at acoustic gigs?

I think I remember reading something about cameras at gigs. What are the rules? small digital cameras with flash, or mobile phone type cameras only? I'll be at the Bastille in Glasgow on the 5th.
Cheers, Keith.

Depends what you can smuggle past security...
My mate got forcibly removed from the G'n'R gig in London the other week for taking a shot of Fatboy Rose on his mobile for his short arse mate who couldn't see the stage properly.
The acoustic gigs are usually ok for filming (Ginger's been known to ask if anyone's filming at the one's I've been to) as long as you're not planning on selling the footage. There were several pretty expensive looking cameras at the warm-up at JB's - one guy even had one of those single-legged-tripod-stabiliser thingys, and he wasn't even the guy doing the official stuff (for the single *cough*).

At Liverpool therer was no bother about the camera. But check the back of your tickets, they usually give some advice on cameras. Failing that try the venues website.

Excuse me Mr Ean, did you say 'single'? Pray tell...

Ah, you spotted that then...
That's honestly all I know - there was filming being done, apparently, for a video clip/dvd single thing at the warm-up gigs. No idea what track it's going to be or anything.

Anyone looking to bring a camera to Bristol tonight should check the deal first. Bristol Academy's security is known for its no-nonsense, no-manners, borderline-thuggish approach to venue management. (I say 'known': I've seen it first hand)

Spoke with bro-in-law and there's no camera or recording equipment restrictions stated on the tickets for the Bastille. I just hope Ginger doesn't mind a flash going off in his face every now and again
Anyone meeting up for pre-acoustic madness pints??
Cheers, Keith.

Guy on the merchandise counter was the guy doing the filming at Liverpool. He said it was for the Japanese single release of "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah" prior to the gig.
However, the more observant and less intoxicated of you (it was the evening of the afternoon England match!!) may have noticed he didn't play it; so don't know how reliable that was.

We'll be taking our cameras into the Bastille gig. Shouldn't be too much of a problem. It's usually down to the artist whether they want a photography ban. Venues tend to (try to) comply with their wishes.

I took my cam to the bristol gig and filmed about 8 songs, Hannah got another 3.
There was no nazi security checks at all.
( I know I get to film it for the myspace site anyway but it was no problem at all)
The only venue I have had trouble with was Wolves but the security there has an added I.Q. of 3 and are therefor easy to fool

They were a million times more laidback upstairs then they are in the big room. Thank goodness.

Any idea if there is a support on the acoustic gigs? We're off to the Nuneaton gig tomorrow night. Camera with me as usual.
