Did anyone go? (or not go, as it seems may be the case?)

Spotted a comment on Ginger's myspace about it being cancelled on the night...

It was a no show.
Lot of pissed of people were left in the rain.
Particularly those that made a special effort to get there from out of town as there's a lot of rail problems and SW Scotland on a Sunday for public transport is bad enough.
Seriously pissed off about it as it was cancelled at the last minute.

To be honest, I hope he doesn't reschedule.
And if he does, I wont go because if he's prepared to blow us out at-the-last-minute once........

Really sorry to hear that.

I'd like to say that Ginger must have had a good reason for not showing, but as of now we can't say one way or the other....

Hopefully we'll have a definitive explanation and apology for you all soon though.

Thanks.

I doubt there will be an apology or an explanation, which would sum it up really.
Nah, seriously let down.

Did you at least get your money back on the door?

The bloke I spoke to at the door said there had been a disagreement between the venue and the promoter over water. Make of that what you will but I got the impression Ginger didn't have a lot of say in what happened (unless he was responsible for the water)

Refunds are via the ticket agent

cant see it being a problem between the promoter and the venue.
the promoter has a lot of gigs there and he's local, plus the venue is about the only place in dumfries that has regular gigs so its mutually beneficial to both parties get the gig sorted whatever the cost.

It was kind of annoying that the gig was cancelled at the last minute. I checked with the Venue in the afternoon to check it was still on before setting of to the gig. Whatever happened it is the Fans who lost out especially those who made an effort to get to Dumfries. Sadly some of us have missed a good show going by reports from other gigs.

There was some info on the promoters site (Whitenoize.info) site regarding the cancellation see below.

GINGER GIG

DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND OUR CONTROL WE HAD NO OPTION BUT TO CANCEL THE SHOW!
Unfortunately we failed to provide the standards/arrangments and Ginger decided not to play.
Myself, Venue Mgr & Ginger`s agent tried our utmost to resolve the matter but to no avail.
All I can do is offer my sincerest apologies to everyone inconvenienced.
Full Ticket refunds are available from Barnstorm Records from today!

This message received from Ginger's booking agent:

I cannot go into any specific details.

All I can say is that it was in no way Gingers fault, and the matter is being dealt with.

Ginger and the band send their sincerest apologies to all those affected.
