Wildhearts Rant!!

Ah, the wonderful world of the Wildhearts. Having been a fan since the beginning I make sure I see them on every tour I can cos you never know when it's all gonna end. I stil have my letter from the Southampton Guildhall telling me the Endless Nameless tour had been cancelled due to differences within the band. It always reminds me that they could pack it in at any moment, but then that's what makes being a Wildies fan so fun! The lack of communication, nothing heard for months, then suddenly 15 albums get announced at the same time and everythings great again.

Just enjoy the ride whilst it continues....

they certainly do make the fans experience every emotion there is with their music and their decisions/actions/lifestyles (ok it is mostly down to ginge with his unpredictability although he has seemed to have mellowed a lot)

We need to bring the younger generation to the wildhearts, we cant depend on radio to do it for us. Teach them young and let them lead the way and all that!

If I didn't know better (and I dont), I'd be for suspecting that the strategy behind the video for "New Flesh" is aimed directly at bringing in some younger fans. Why else would they have specified "16 - 18 year olds" for the shoot (OK, I know the youngsters suit the concept of the song). So, the single comes out in October, all the boys n girls think the vid is cool so decide to check out the album, which some may think is cool, others may not. The ones who do think it's cool want to see the band live...hey presto, there's a tour in December. It's not a bad publicity / marketing strategy at all. Of course, maybe I've just smoked a little too much "greenery"

Michelle, I had my tongue firmly lodged in my Glaswegian cheek when I posted.......I am all too aware that Scottish humour (particularly mine) doesnt always translate too well here in the US. I hope you took no offence....there was none meant
