Wildhearts lyric file?

Postby seventieslord » 15th Oct 07, 21:37

As I mentioned before, I am going to be taking a Wildhearts CDR containing mp3's of every song they have ever recorded, in chronological order. I'd like to quickly make a lyric book to accompany it, and obviously copying and pasting from online would be the easiest way to compile it.

However, searching song by song online might prove to be slow when there are 160 songs to look for. Does anyone have a lyrics file they've put together? Or a link to a good site that has the lyrics split by album? That would make it a lot easier not navigating so much on the browser and having 10-12 songs on the same page that I know go together.

Any help of any degree would be much appreciated. I've got 48 hours before I leave.

Avoid sites like lyricsdownload.com as they are viruses...

This has most of the earlier stuff - pre RARAMFR - and it's also a top website: :)

This is where I go, myself. Brilliant site.

On a vaguely related note, Seventieslord... have you noticed that the lyrics to The New Flesh are officially transcribed saying:

"and the psychopaths accountable for killing every innocent are all sitting safely out of range"

while in the actually recording, Ginger obviously says:

"and the psychopaths accountable for killing every innocent are both sitting safely out of range"

?

Seems to me that that was a pretty deliberate swipe specifically at George W. Bush that was later hastily covered up.

Also... my official "every single Wildhearts song ever" playlist has only got 154 tracks... but I haven't included any of the pre-Mondo demos (or any other demos, for that matter). I did, however, include both versions of Vanilla Radio and all three mixes of So Into You.

5MH is a great site. James Tomlinson runs it and I am in constant contact with him. we trade music and shoot the shit often. It may be my best option, but the downside is all the switching from page to page. He sent me all the html files for convenience, and it looks like I'm gonna use them.

The sing365 site is not bad, but too much navigating around to copy and paste all of them.

as for the new flesh, I agree. I hear "both" instead of "all" and I noticed the discrepancy in the book. I think it refers to Bush, but who's the other?

It also says "attacked for trying to job" when they obviously mean to say (and do say) "attacked for trying to do a job", but that might just be a typo.

My playlist is officially 152 tracks, but that counts 11 pre-mondo tracks and has a few "combined" rips with songs that are just meant to be heard together without any kind of pause (suckerpunch/headfuck, 630/eager, suckerpunch b-sides, cold patootie/caprice, and a few others. It also has just one version of every song - in all cases, the first one released. No shortened schizophonic, no FFL version of SOD, and no remixes of SIY and VR.

Just in case you were curious about why there was such a difference :)

It's got to be our esteemed former Prime Minister Mr Blair, aka poodle (and for those that follow football, Phil Neal to Bush's Graham Taylor!!!!!)

Could this be a bit of political debate in the forum! or could it be:
Saddam Hussein..

My bet would be Tony Blair!

Note I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with anybody on this. I'm here for the Wildhearts not the political banter!!

That's who I suspected, but I don't follow things closely enough so I didn't want to look silly and/or insult your PM!

First he describes Osama "killing innocent Americans", then he described the unwarranted invasion of Iraq, which George W. Bush is responsible for, where we "killed some families". These two things are the entire subject of the first verse, which he wraps up by saying, "the psychopaths accountable for killing every innocent are both sitting safely out of range".

He is definitely referring to Osama and Bush as the psychopaths accountable for the killing of innocents.

Maybe.

You have me about 65.4% convinced.

I think Bush and Blair makes a lot of sense if he is taking a stab at the politcal psychopaths (though I doubt Blair is in bush's league) who are responsible for Iraq. On the other hand, grouping Osama with Bush make sense too.
