This is a great idea for another string: Outrageous stunts to get attention for the Wildhearts!

For example, Take an old beater truck & paint the Wildhearts' logo on it. While you're at it, paint "BOMB" on it as well. Crank up the WH in it's stereo & leave it sitting in front of a Federal government building. A truck marked "Bomb" left parked in front of such a location is going to make the evening news.

Yeah sure - a great way to get some cheap publicity.

Also a great way to get the Wildhearts (and all individual members of the band) banned from the terrorist paranoid US of A for life.

I know a band who have a lifetime ban from the US for far less.

My goal is to be able to see the band here, not get them blacklisted. Perhaps others have suggestions that do not imply a terrorist threat?...

I think that if they're thinking about moving operations to the state, they need to start from scratch. Start hitting the clubs and working their way up.

Maybe we should lobby the band to actually release their albums over here... that would certainly be a start!

Biggest problem geting the albums released in the US is going to be who actually owns all of the songs.
We have East/West,Mushroom,Round and Gut Records all having Wildhearts recordings on their labels.

The Wildhearts aen't the only bands who have went to USA and come back demoralised at the lack of exposure or support.I remember Ricky Warwick from The Almighty splitting the band up not long after they went to America and ended up being support to a Metallica covers band.
The Levellers had some horrible times over there as well that they talk about in their Dance Before the Storm book.

Maybe moving over there for a while is the best way for it to work.As long as they keep coming back here i'll be happy.

it was a few years after that incident the Almighty split . The kicker on that story was that they flew from supporting Metallica in front of 15,000 people or so at the Milton Keynes bowl to plying to less than 100 supporting the Metallica covers band . I think 'Addiction' was getting some MTV play at the time but they were disenchanted with people who came just for that song as cos they were a 'tv band'


The Almighty/Wildhearts/Kerbdog tour was one of the most awexome tours of all time . 7 years time and they should have a 20th anniversary tour or show for it
