Ha! Wildhearts playing in my hometown! Although they said the usual 'see you soon' etc. etc. in Helsinki two weeks ago, this came as a real surprise. It is a showcase-like festival, but hopefully we are going to see a decent gig with loads of material outside Earth vs this time...

The show on Friday was a short, loud and sweaty one with some Spinal Tap moments. Anyway, it was great to experience them from a touching distance. Can't wait for the full, 'regular' headline set in February, it seems that they have finally found Finland.

And although I have always felt that I'm too old and sensible for doing the 'fan things', it was a very memorable moment to meet Ginger yesterday (yep, they spent a few nights at the festival) and have a little chat with him.

It's so great that after 15 years of waiting I have finally seen The Wildhearts two times in about one month - first in Helsinki in September and now in Tampere, my hometown. It was certainly worth waiting for! The Helsinki gig was awesome, much better than I could have ever imagined in my wildest dreams. I loved the Tampere gig, too, but unfortunately the sound was much worse than in Helsinki. I don't know if the sound was too loud or what was the problem exactly, but I could hardly hear the singing at all, which was a pity. Ginger's funny speaks were also distorted. Anyway, the band gave us a really energetic and sweaty show with some amazing songs. I really had the time of my life in the front row. It was over all too quickly, and I crave for more as soon as possible. I really hope they will come back in February as they promised.
