Setlist for 2007 tour

Postby Nickinvincible » 7th Apr 07, 12:26

Dead excited about the tour, and i'm personally looking forward to seeing a refreshed setlist! obviously lots of new stuff will be in there, and i wonder with rich back in the fold whether some E,N stuff might get an airing??

It would be good to give songs like Everlone or Caffeine Bomb a tour 'off'...dont get me wrong I lovelovelove these songs and will go bonkers for them, but they have been staples of the set for a while now and with the new line-up, new material, maybe its a good chance to build up a new setlist?

Then next year or something they can put all the old classics back in, and hey presto we all go even more crazy for them

Ginger said he wouldnt mind Urge as it works without the distortion, which I would love them to play...or if they played Beautiful Thing You like on Strikes Back...
Dont like this talk of dropping Everlone though, this tour will be my first time seeing them so I hope they dont drop one of my favorites after all these years of playing it :P

Whether we like it or not, if a band plays mostly new and rare stuff on a tour (unless it's intimate dates advertised as such), a lot of people don't come back... we'd obviously all be there any time they play but trust me, I've been to so many gigs where I can hear people bemoaning "why don't they play..."

Not exactly disagreeing with you - I'd love a completely 'different' setlist but it's probably not the best thing they could do. Mind you, I can never get enough of Suckerpunch live for one...

Which is why I didn't enjoy Iron Maiden as much as previous times last year, because they played all of A Matter Of Life And Death from start to finish in the same order.

TBH, I was bored towards the end, I just wanted it over so that they'd get stuck into the older stuff. And what a shame they only had time to play Fear Of The Dark, 2 Minutes To Midnight, Hallowed Be Thy Name and Iron Maiden

Yea same here Will , Everlone eluded me the 3 times of seeing them. And when its up there as one of my fav songs i'd hate to miss it again.

I could however live without hearing Headfuck , Suckerpunch , Caffeine Bomb ,Caprice, O.C.D , Vanilla Radio , Top Of The World. With the excpetion of Caffeine Bomb ive heard all them 3 times and bomb twice.

Bring in obv a few new songs , News Of The World , Loveshit , Just In Lust maybe a couple of the older b-sides and I'd love it. But then again loads of ppl would be unhappy not to hear some of the staples which ive said above , so I guess no1 is gonna win :D

Mmm, I wasn't so much thinking of them playing rare stuff, more that if there are six or seven new songs in the setlist, I personally would rather some of the older material made way for the new songs. I think Everlone is great, and it is quite riff-y so I guess it would sound quite nice with the new stuff.

Obviously though they've gotta play their big songs, and quite right too, no sense in bombarding new punters with a load of b-sides they've never heard! So the answer is for them to play for half an hour longer to fit in the new stuff, rather than dropping any songs to make room for them :P

I could live without hearing "Caprice" or "OCD" quite happily. Hope "29X" and Sick of Drugs" remain though, plus some new stuff.
But in all honesty they could come on stage and fart and Id be fairly happy :o

When they played Tokyo, the setlist was roughly

TV Tan
Caffeine Bomb
Vanilla Radio
Nita Nitro
OCD
Headfuck
Sick of Drugs
Everlone
Suckerpunch
Shitsville
Caprice

(Ginger solo) w/ Jake
Geordie in Wonderland
29 x The Pain

A new song about suicide
Luv U Til I Don't
I Wanna Go Where The People Go

So no surprises in there, although Ginger said on the night that noone had responded to his video message to request songs, so Scott only learned the bread and butter songs. The UK tour setlist might depend on how much practice time they've had together.

It's my first time seeing them live too so I'm really hoping that the old stuff gets played too.

Mochy, that was pretty much the Wolverhampton Xmast too. On the set list I got, it lists 2 new songs - "Zen Requiem" (which was played) and "Inner City" which wasnt, but is listed on the album.

I guess we can expect quite a few of the new songs.

I mostly would love to hear Liberty Cap, Be My Drug, Loveshit and Woah, Shit.

Inglorious would be good but is pretty long i guess.
