Wildhearts Tshirts that don't suck!

Postby Sir Euan » 1st Mar 08, 16:40

Hello! I don't know if it's just me but all the wildhearts tshirts these days seem to be very dull. The Xmas gigs were the worst for it, with the horrible looking smileybones outline on everything and the I heart WH tees, everything they do now is very generic or has been done before. Even the the future's bright the future's ginger tshirt was around for like a year or two before OUR ginger started doing it, it used to be a joke tee about people with ginger hair.

So I'd really like it if some interesting, not stupid cheap looking or in your face designs were made. The big print on the hoodies "you're gonna get it when you don;t see it coming" were kind of embarrassing enough to wear never mind the fact the first batch of them were spelt wrong. I miss the days when they had the awesome sex pistols mock tshirt and the passport one, they were good designs.

So how about doing stuff more like this, I'm wondering if i should pester the band or Ginger about letting me do artwork/designs for their tshirts and stuff, just, something a but more interesting.

Should I take this further? Designing for the band or even the whole round records label would be bloody awesome. If it helps I am a proper graphic design student, heck I'm even in this months X360 magazine, the 2 navy tshirts at the top of this page are mine, I even get a name check in the mag, hehe.

In a word..... ROCKIN'! Your designs kick ass! Great use of colours, imaginative images, simply great. I'd buy one.

as kool as your designs are... i dunno if i'd wear them... whereas these plainer designs just go with anything! black & white always works!

nothing against your designs they're great... i just think they're if anything a little 'too' loud!

...i guess it all depends on your dress sense...!

I know there's nothing wrong with black and white but I reckon most wildhearts fans have enough black and white tshirts as it is.

As far as I know the old logo isn't a font it's actually drawn. That's why I like it the best, all the other logos are just normal fonts really there's not so much character to them.

I had to redraw that logo with mine own two hands!

I'd buy one of your t's too... Looking at your lovely model it would appear they're in womens' sizes too? Always a bonus when like me at gigs you've got to get a mans size small or extra small so you don't look like you're wearing a sodding tent.

I'd suggest writing (properly mind, make it a bit formal so no e-mail gubbins) to Round Records/the man himself. To quote (bits from one page on) this very website,
Retaining a staunchly DIY approach towards making, packaging and releasing music, we plan on signing bands/singers/musicians to our label, as well as making available our own music.

We will utilise the talents of a worldwide team of artists and designers to provide the best in packaging.

Intending to honour our promise of a fair deal we will always be on hand to offer guidance and support to the more inexperienced of talents, and professional advice to the experienced.

And all we need is you!

With quality being of paramount importance to our output, we demand the same from you.

We do not discriminate between seasoned pros and brand new talent. Passion is mandatory. Your vision and originality are what we want.

You will know if you have something vital to offer. And if you do not know, then we will.

Music and talent of any style is welcome.

Now I know this is a bit more about the music and packaging, but there's surely a design link there. Go for it, and good luck.

Huh? Wow. I think it's a great, great song. Guess this must be that "opinion" thing people keep telling me about.... but... Wow.
