You pass US. Customs as a Canadian on holiday. You are free to visit New York once in the states man.

I don't think US-Canada border guards would think anything much of someone traveling to NYC to see a show or two. Millions of people go to NYC to see Broadway stuff, right? It is the biggest US tourist destination, after all.

Maybe I'm just paranoid of the USA's paranoia then. But really, you oughta see the rough ride I have been given at the border in the 5 times I have crossed it since 2002. And I work in an office building and I look like I do, too.

LOL, that's expensive! Actually, the Boogaards grew up here. Haven't met either of them, but I have played poker with their brother.
