I can only laugh! HMV email today to say single & CD are on the way. So now I need to wait for a postal strike to finish, then a postal backlog to clear if that doesn't happen before the next postal strike!

Have you tried Cargo? I've had simaler problems with HMV online. In fact I've placed about 5 orders and ha to cancel them all for the same reason!

Typically after having had a rant about them, HMV have now seen fit to dispatch my order. However, as with others on here I suspect the postal strike may result in something of a delay. If I was cynical I might wonder if perhaps my order might mysteriously disappear in the confusion caused by the strike, and HMV would then have to re-re-order from their specialist supplier and take 63 days and 4 hours to get it to me. I will give them one. More. Chance.

They've posted mine out as well now.
However the above scenario happened to me at the last postal strike when i ordered the Best of John Cooper Clarke.I then sent off an angry e mail to Amazon..they sent me out another copy a few days later..and 2 copies arrived on the same day. :D

While HMV do come in for some entirely fair criticism on the being-a-bunch-of-useless-arses front (apart from HMV Japan who are a shining beacon, on the whole...), I think it's a little unfair on this occasion. The lack of stock in most outlets rather suggests that it's a balls-up by Cargo - And not for the first time (anyone remember the VDC pre-release?).

My HMV order is on its way, yay... Shame I'd already gone to Cargo direct too...

Hmmm, oh well, at least I'll own 1/500th of the vinyl copies.

There aren't any to be found in HMV in Wolverhampton. I tried a local shop, Gould's, which is really an electrics/electronics store but have a music section, as they've had every Wildhearts release since Earth Vs but there's been no sign of the new album or single. I asked the bloke behind the counter, he asked who were distributing it, I replied 'Cargo', he said 'Who?' Tried my local rock music specialist, ST Records in Dudley, and they were awaiting an order on Wednesday. They came in and I picked up their last copy today. They still have the 7" if anyone's interested.

Aha, finally managed to get a copy today, found the vinyl and a placeholder for the cd in Cardiff's HMV, then as I was in the Virgin Megastore, 2 minutes after getting a bit dissapointed at not seeing it in the singles section there someone came along and topped up the wall with a bunch more copies of it...loving Oh Bonita, and it does seem like the vocals are louder on the download version of Unbroken, but Ive been playing different versions through different speakers so maybe not...

none in solihull hmv , and they're phasing out singles completely now

birmingham - out of the 3 hmvs only the largest has 4 copies of the vinyl . for £3
virgin megastore - same
swordfish - none
tempest - none but are coming in

manchester - vinyl only in the largest hmv and virgin . in hmv was told only 4 cds had been ordered in , and don't know what price ( this while they're rammed with whatevers being pushed at £2 and under )

its the face of that 'charge more for independant singles cos their fans are hardcore and will pay more - discount mainstream stuff to shift on fairweather public ' how in the blue hell is that ever good to the consumer ? they can say independant wh stuff may not sell , but on the face of it is has sold right out - but can' prove it'd sell more cos the stock wasn't ordered in . grrrrrrrrrrrrrr .

since the band consistently hit around 21 in the charts on week of release thats just ball dropping on someones account i'd say .
don't gimme your manson lamps

That is not a problem, Royal Mail is not the only deliverer of mail item now.

went to the Tottenham Court Road Virgin store on Friday (late, I know, but it's been a busy week). I went to the new singles section, found the vinyl, but no cd. Went to buy the vinyl, reasoning that i could get the cd down the road in HMV, and the guy on the counter asked if I wanted anything else. So I said, well have you got the cd? He checked his computer, said there should be some still there, yes. He went over to look, no luck, so he siad, well it may be in the store upstairs, logged in, but not put on the shelves yet. So off he went, and sure enough returned five minutes later with about 20/25 cd singles under his arm. This was Friday of the release week  I can't complain too much tho, cos the guy was very helpful to me, but I wonder whether there were a load of people in there looking for it, not finding it, and buggering off without enquiring?

That's terrible. Is it just me, or does this seem to happen with Wildhearts releases more than any other band?

I don't know whether its the WH specifically, or Cargo in general...?
