I think it's an introspective retrospection of the last twenty or so years or Ginger's life.

I was prepared to use your nice soft carpeted ones at home, but if concrete and broken ribs is your bag then...?

Johnny Knoxville and Jackass has got a lot to answer for these days with all these kids thinking they're stuntmen and being shoved down concrete steps by their mates.

When i was a kid i was that popular i had people who didnt even like me trying to push me down the stairs just so they could say they'd touched me..................hang on i've not thought that one through have I??

Seconded. You'll eventually get all WHs albums anyway. And the B-sides, one way or another. Also, do check out SilverGinger5 if you haven't already!

Y'know, it's not what I said, but it sure is what I meant. I took it that a girl that got so much joy out of 'being pointed in the Yoni direction' wouldn't mind me complimenting her body.

I'd agree pretty much, except I'd swap PHUQ for Black Leather Mojo personally

Blimey - thanks everyone!

Loads of info there - think I'd be right in saying that the general consensus seems to be that Earth v's would be a good first album??

The idea of listening to everything chronologically did appeal as I can be anal like that (why do I know I'm going to regret putting it like that?!). The only thing that deterred me from doing so was that I know that if I'd heard Market Harbour before Yoni I may well have just sailed through it on the first listen to and categorised it as "simply entertaining" rather that the masterpiece it is. I think that sometimes the introductory album can mean everything....if that makes sense....

I agree it's great being introduced to new music. I've been lucky enough to meet people through my life with such a diverse taste that my CD collection defines "eclectic", but hey - if it's good, it's good - regardless of genre in my book. Apart from dance / house etc, obviously, that's just shite.

Well, I'll look forward to the break-up PM's - I actually did a real "laugh out loud" at that, my curtains being burnt and JD being thrown at me. Actually - the latter is nothing new....

And as for my gender, I've always been a woman on the inside, and when I've saved up enough for the op I'll be one on the outside too

Ok, firstly...

Hur Hur, she said anal...

In that case, definitely Earth Vs.... As a statement of intent, there is no better album. And you're more or less starting at the beginning as well. :D

Absolutely. As soon as Darren finishes writing the history, I'll get right on it. :D

Erm. I don't get it - Yoni is chronologically before MH, so that'd would've been alright, wouldn't it?

Ilsa wrote:Apart from dance / house etc, obviously, that's just shite.

I'd have said the same a few years ago, but not that categorically now. Most music (not just dance) that clogs the charts and mainstream airwaves (at least over here) admittedly is crap.
However, while I don't know how you define dance, there's a new breed of acts that I do quite enjoy - M.I.A., Robyn, Roisin Murphy... Ah, just me, then... okay...

Oooh errr mister! Sorry, it's just that Ilsa sounds like a rather female name to the german ear.
