Guys, sorry for me being so lame lately, but I'm absolutely swamped with *real* (GASP!) work at the moment. I'll send those CDs asap, promise.

Quite interesting.

Out of interest, is it definitely a bootleg or a promo? My sources tell me an official Jap BMG promo was pressed with the "Rough Mix" but I'm yet to track one down...

Would love a copy too!

Cheers.

Can we all believe that it's 4 years since the last WH album(mer)? If everything on it sounds like Nexus Icon, I'll be mildly less discontented. Christ, hey!

Or like the riff off 'get your groove on'.

Right then, I've had a copy of The Wildhearts for over a week now.
All I can say is FECK ME THIS IS UNBELIEVABLY GOOD!!!!

There's so much going on over these 10 tracks, you'll still be picking up new aspects after 20 listens.
I don't know that I want to say much more really - cos the less you know before you stick this baby on, the wider your smile will be when it's in, blowing your speakers up.

Like every WH album, it's certainly got a flavour all to itself - yet it still manages to be absolute, classic 'Hearts.

Really hard to pick out faves, cos I've got new ones every day and there's not a duff track on here.
But, my god, the 9-minute, rifftastic opener...The Sweetest Song (what a glorious contrast between verse and chorus)..the epic vocal on the chorus of Slaughtered Authors...
... The Hard Way.. Oh! ALL OF EM!

I think this could well be my fave WH album.
It's that good.
:D :D :D

Says on the wildhearts.com that the Sweetest Song is being released on april 9th as a download only single :( bit of a gutter. But then again a 9 minute single in the charts was never gonna happen.

So im guessing that the jap version will have the extra songs and these will be b-sides for the single maybe ?

Sorry - didn't mean to create jealousy, just wanted to add to the buzz, because this album deserves it. Not long now!!

I'm an evil journo in a privileged position - sworn to promote GInger and The Wildhearts at every opportunity I can grasp with my wicked, nicotine-stained fingers.

I think its rooting for the bad guy thats meant to be nine minutes, dont think anything been said about the length of the sweetest song yet. Download only was a bit dissapointing, I wanted to go and buy all the versions of a Wildies single for the first time since Ive discovered them and do my bit for any charting hopes, heres hoping theres still a video in the works though.

Off-hand, think Sweetest clocks in at around 7mins.
They could have gone the easy route with Bipolar Baby or She's All That for singles - but this is a delicious statement of intent. Great, great song but, yeah, shame about internet-only.

For a band operating on a very tight budget, this is, unfortunately for B-sides fans, exactly the right move: Easy accessibility with few to no distribution overheads.

Hopefully, normal service will be resumed alongside the downloads later on, but for now it's a smart move. :)
