I started my Sunday visiting the signing tent for the Wildhearts slot, and they were all friendly, accommodating and generous with their time, but Ginger was in a particularly happy and chatty mood, which clearly carried throughout the day. I just hope no one further back in the que missed out for lack of time!

Their performance for me was nowhere near my favourite Wildhearts gig, I was hoping for a couple more new ones to go with old favourites, as I thought showing their variety and some of their heavier moments would be more suitable for a festival/Download crowd, and the HUGE gaps of talking between songs really took away any momentum musically. However, a gig like this should be all about winning new fans rather than pleasing people like me, and most people walked away happy, so I'd consider the day a huge success. To be honest the crowd didn't seem that loud to me, and there wasn't much movement either, but having seen the photos from the stage it does look like they had a bigger crowd than any I saw on that stage all weekend.

It was brilliant in the pit - Kiss were awesome but the Wildhearts were more fun. Great to see the band play to such a big crowd and Ginger was the happiest I have seen him on stage for like - well forever really. He was loving every minute of it and so was I

Bit gutted we missed out on the finale... but hey, part of the story to tell... Wish you get proper footage of the show cause it was great!

Great pics for sure but couldn't view them full size. Needed to register/log in. Which didn't want to do. Oh well.

On another note. Does anyone know if WH Download set was filmed professionally for future WH DVD Documentary? Hope so.

ginge looks really young and fresh faced. bit like he did in the early nineties but without the long flowing locks.

Certainly for Ginge, the 'no moustache and beard' look shaves (pun intended) about 10 years off his age.

There's bootleg of the show up on the net here now.can I just add that it's not my recording, but one I found on the internet, so apologies for the sound quality not being great, and also sorry that i couldn't figure out how to put it all into one single file  also, i hope the band don't mind it being shared around too - no profit is being made at their expense

The new tshirt is nice but it's all really just a bunch of stock graphics thrown together and then the text and smiley bones added.

It is terrible generic which doesn't suit the wildhearts if you ask me, demand the right to be unique?

I see what you mean but I still think it's good. Yes you could do some of that with stock graphics (stars and bugs and scrolls) but not the re-invention of the text. It takes the existing smiley bones and brings it up to date whilst tying it in with the logo. I like it :D

(And no, I don't work for 'em but I would if i could)
