I forced a work collegue to listen to the new album on our way to a course yesterday, he is a real indie kid and hate's anything with 'METAL' guitars..

By time we got home he was humming the sweetest song and conceded that slaugtered authors was a work of genius...

Is this a sign that this album could convert a huge chunk of the music buying public to the way of the ginger one ?

Fucking hope so the boys sooooooo deserve it

I also think slaughtered authors is the complete wildhearts song it's got everyting i love about the band in it's eight & half minutes...

Well, it managed to convince my girlfriend that she'd never buy it about 15 seconds into "Rooting..."

But Slaughtered Authors - minus the metal parts - went down comparatively well with her. Actually, parts of that song are a real expansion of the WHs scope once again. The verses almost remind me of Paradise Lost...

My wife said the exact same thing about "Slaughtered..." within seconds of the first verse starting. It's currently her favourite song on the album (mine's Bi-Polar Baby) at least partly cos she's a longtime PL fan (as well as a longtime WH fan I hasten to add).
There's lots here for non-wildie fans to enjoy i think, more so than with the poppier "Must Be Destroyed", weirdly.
