The Wildhearts

As Much as I hate KoKo (*evil, evil rip off merchants*) I will be at KoKo, along with the spiffing Rob (Batesy). Anybody else coming

It'll be Mine and Rob's 5th Anniversary, and guess what - our first date was a wildies gig, so rather appropriate too!

We'll be in the pub beforehand celebrating (not sure which pub - what's nearby?) so see you all then - and i might even see if i can rustle up some listie stickers...... (where's Andy B when you need him )

Why do you hate Koko? I´ve never been there, just wondering if its a bad place for a rock concert? My girlfriend who is not very tall is afraid she wont be able to see the band

Yeah! We´re flying in from Norway Saturday, and ready for pints all Sunday.

It's kinda a personal thing i guess - we got horribly overcharged for drinks, and it didn't feel like a real venue anymore - more like a hangout for the people who think they're cool. Anyway - it's worth it to see the wildies - and i can have a drink before and just not buy in there

Hey, see you both there.

At this point, we're planning on drifting into the Purple Turtle (sort of diagonally opposite on Crowndale Road) throughout the afternoon.

I see! The kinda place I usually really hate
But I´ve been saving up for this trip for a while, so its ok to spend some overcharged money on drinks for just this night. I´m more concerned about the sound and view at the place. Too bad to travel from Norway just for a lousy view and a bad sound arena.

to be honest i think it is the best venue in london. as for viewing, there are lots of little floors that only go one person deep which are great for viewing if you're not going on the pit. the catacombs are quite confusing though.

agreed it is expensive but that's the norm for big london venues.

So it´s still the Purple Turtle is it? We´ll be flying in
from Vienna on saturday. Ey, that´s gonna be one cool
euro-crowd: norwegians, austrians and tons of all sorts of brits.

Yep, due to it being :-

a) close to the venue and the station
b) more often than not a rock pub, and
c) still there (you'd be surprised how often this is a problem. )

oh, and

d) how can you not want to have a pint in somewhere named after a dodgy 80's computer game.

Shirts? I guess, unless Ila's going to get her fairy lights out again?

c) Indeed... the first time I remember this happening the entire building had been demolished!

Hi there Ila, Batesy and co, my first post here but I used to to be in the other list. Don't know if you remember me but I met you at the Barfly in 2002/03 at a B Movie Heros gig ? Anyways just to let you know that you can count with a couple of Portuguese at the Koko (what a stupid name is this for a venue ) and at the Purple for some (lots) pints of Guinness

oooh - i think i've got them here - i may have to drag them out I took them back to my parents over xmas, and my sister tried to steal them, but i'm sure i got them back!

Eep - i'm all excited now!!! I apologise to everybody in advance if i get really drunk again (hands up all who remember the signing the weatherspoons menu incident - i still have it somewhere i'm sure - or am i on my own remembering that one?)

i'll be in the purple turtle too - hurrah! i'll be knocking about from afternoon ish so i'll be lurking in the rubadub from fairly early i reckon....might as well make a day of it ha ha

Okay, maybe i should populate my phone number to people who want it - so we can find each other if we get stuck? i'm pretty sure me and rob will be in town from lunchtime onwards - so pm me if you do want my moby no?
