On my rock city tickets it says no unauthorised photography, does this include liitle digi cameras? was hoping to take my camera just incase we managed to meet the band (which knowing my luck would only happen if I didnt have a camera!).

I'm absolutely positive I've seen peoples' photos from Rock City (Andy B? Hannah?) and I've definitely seen them being used at gigs there, tho can't speak from experience I'm afraid.

Aye City are normally pretty good with letting people take cameras in, as long as you dont make it to obvious then y'sorted Ive taken a camera many a time and never had any problem, besides if they dont let people take cameras in nowadays they're not gonna let people take mobile phones in ad thats where the fun would really start, someone unable to take their phone in to a gig and meanwhile their Aunt Doris (who they're really close to) has a heart attack and no-one can get hold of them cuz some twatty doorman has confiscated their phone due to having a camera on it

Well if you see someone being refused entry, or having got in, standing around pointing this at things trying to ge it to focus properly in low light...
(it's not ACTUALLY a digital SLR, just shaped like one)
You'll know it's me.
If it got confiscated would I actually get it back?
Is it worth the risk!?

That'll be slightly more of a gamble than a really compact one - I used to have a fuji finepix a similar shape to that, which was deemed 'too professional looking' because the lens didn't retract into the body, so I had to leave it in the cloakroom (this was in Oxford).

From memory, rock city WILL NOT let you take cameras in, or at least not anything with a zoom lens, however, if they don't find it at the door then they can't confiscate it. If, for any reason, they do refuse to let you take your camera in, they usually just ask you to put it in the cloakroom till after the show.

I've taken my camera in to RC many times, but then it's only a compact thing, not a more professional SLR type.
If you have an SLR sized camera, I'd be prepared to have to put it in the cloakroom and not take it in to the gig.

yeah, but if the camera's too bulky you need to be a bit creative about where you hide it

Cheers
It's a bit hard to hide mine!
But if the most that will happen is I have to leave it in the cloakroom it seems worth risking, it's not like it wouldn't be in a bag, open to potential theft (more than anything else)

Bring your badger costume, no-one would ever think a badger would be concealing a camera that way you might even get closer to the stage and if you get collared make out you got lost and was trying to find your set/warren, what the hell do Badgers live in anyways?

Kev, the badger costume was dismantled immediately after the run (I think it could probably have walked back to London by itself) , it's gonna have to be re-made from scratch this year!
Not gonna be in Nottingham unfortunately, we've got the teenager that weekend and he doesn't remotely pass for 18 yet...

Bit o'both... recognised the username then read the 'Introducktions' thread, which kinda gave the game away!
