Kids at wildhearts gigs

Postby Orient » 14th May 07, 11:59

Has anyone ever taken a young kid to a wildhearts gig? (by young I mean pre-teen)

My 8 year old was mortified when I bought tickets for nottingham and didnt buy him one and even more mortified when he heard that I met the band  I'd love to take him at christmas but not sure if it's a stupid idea or not? I know some places won't allow it anyway, just wandered if anyone had done it before....Ginger said it would be ok if it was a smallish place?

It's all about the rules for specific venues. Rock CIty is over 18s only, but does the occasional gig where it's under 14s... The basic clue is, if the place seres alcohol, kids generally aren't allowed. I'm not sure what the rules are for other places they might play, but with the type of places the WH have been at recently, I wouldn't see an 8 year old being allowed in... I would have thought it's the bigger places that allow kids, rather than the smaller venues, who would have very specific licensing laws.

My ex girlfriend took her 11 year old to see Iron Maiden at The SECC last December with no problems

I took my lad to see the Wildhearts in Riffs in Blackpool, we okayed it with the owner first though. Manchester Academy said it would be OK too as long as he wasn't near the front.
And yes he loved the Riffs gig.

Just got back from taking our two eldest boys to the Milton Keynes gig, 13 and 10, both loved it. My wife was pregnant with our 10 year old at her first Wildies gig at the Cambridge Corn exchange just over 10 years ago so it was nice to make his first gig a Wildhearts one!!

Made me feel very proud, especially when Ginger called him cute!
