Tunes you'd like to hear The Wildhearts Cover

Postby Scott Manson » 31st May 07, 22:28

If you could have a favourite tune by another band covered by the guys or Ginger what would it/they be?

For me...Elvis Costello's - (Whats So Funny 'Bout) Peace Love And Understanding would sound good on a Ginger album. The Wildhearts would make a blinding job of Alice Cooper's - Under My Wheels. Maybe an interesting version of a Beatles tune would be cool too.

To be fair.. anything they covered would sound great.

So I'm going to vote for:
B*Witched - Blame It On The Weatherman :P

(edited to add: but Chris Cornell did a pretty good job of that Costello track, and I reckon Ginger would do even better, aye.)

Noooooooooooooo.

If they're going to cover ANY B*Witched song, it should be "Never Givin' Up"!!
How dare you!

Ginger was once involved in a cover of this - from the Wildhearts website:

2 March 1998: Ginger makes a surprise appearance in a band called The Unrehearsed at a gig in London supporting Backyard Babies. The set list runs: Chip Away The Stone (originally recorded by Aerosmith; Ginger on vocals), Queen Bitch (originally recorded by David Bowie; Ginger on vocals - dedicated to "the late great Mick Ronson, and also the late, great Father Ted"), Personality Crisis (originally recorded by the New York Dolls; Ray Zell on vocals), Under My Wheels (originally recorded by Alice Cooper; Ray Zell on vocals), Malibu Beach Nightmare (originally recorded by Hanoi Rocks; Jay on vocals), Anthem (originally recorded by, erm, The Wildhearts; Jay on vocals).

I'd really love to hear an Endless, Nameless styleee take of Bob Dylan's It's All Over Now Baby Blue.

But not Dylan's version, the Animals version as well.

Years ago I loved (and still do) Cheers. And thought what a great tune th ethmem was and how great it would be rocked up...So theyve already covered what I thought would be good. I really like the Abba and Bee Gees covers, so how about something else poppy..."Club Tropicana" by Wham!

or "You Suffer" by Napalm Death.

I just kinda wish they'd covered the whole song instead of just the bit from the tv theme. :?
