CJ - Live - The Reviews

Postby geordierussell » 3rd Aug 07, 02:11

Just back from sheffield. bit too drunk for a review, except to say I throughly enjoyed it.

CJ, blind as a bat. Wilddan/Hannah have a set list somewhere

Look away if you don't want to see the setlist!

This Is Reality
Girl's On Fire
Get Out Of My Way
Could've Been Beautiful
How Can You Feel
Wanna Know Now
Myself To Blame
What You Living For
Written In Blood
Song For You
Go Away (yay!)

We actually seem to have lost the setlist Hot Steve chucked us (blame Mr. "staying sober!"), but luckily my contortionist skills in snapping the setlist before he began came out nicely.

Thought the first support band were wank, but really liked the second one - did anyone catch their name?

CJ and the guys were great, and clearly enjoying their music. We had a chat with CJ afterwards (about 3 minutes after you left, Gaz!) and he's really looking forward to the upcoming gigs. Seems a little scared about touring with the GDW though... can't imagine why!

I chatted to him outside, briefly. Had a blast last night, also hooking up with people from Warrior Soul and getting them a gig in London was a blast too. I've also got some tyla news, that I'll pm you about once I get it confirmed.

CJ looked like he was enjoying it. I never realised just how blind he was though.. ha ha. great fun.

Next stop New Gen Superstars tomorrow.

Will do when we get the camera, unless Dave has an XD reader at his house - Rich left the camera there

Pity, because for some unfathomable reason I really want to see the pic of myself with a page 3 girl!

The Blackpool gig was great last night, woefully underattended - shame on you Blackpoo residents - but CJ & the band did a great set.

CJ and the rest of the band were very approachable and chatty, my lad had his pic taken with CJ, and the drummer Jon who came up to my lad at the end of the gig and gave my lad his drum sticks. Cue one very happy 11 year old.

Sheffield had a healthy turnout, but it was a small venue.

CJ said, it was like playing Wembley, then added the bit about him being blind as a bat. :D

I was at the Water Rats show and really enjoyed it! The place was pretty full, although not as full as last time. Lots of familiar faces there - many faces I used to see regularly back in the days of Five Miles High gigs etc but don't see so often now.

The show was pretty good - great tunes and performance. Bought the album and T-shirt at the gig - good deal at £15 for both. I've been playing the album a lot - haven't listened to anything else sice the gig.
