I just thought I would randomly tell everyone that I'm bloody excited about Thursday!

Aye same here, not seen em in a big gig for a while. barras in 2003 was the last time i think.

Barras was way before 2003 was it not?I saw them there on the Phuq tour and didnt think they'd played there since.

Thursday should be good

Aye they played in November 95 in the barras and twice in 2003. First in April then support to Motorhed in the November. Been at the Garage since I think.

I have been to every single gig they have ever played in Glasgow

Yeo it was PHUQ tour in 1995 and also in 2003.

Played a blinder supporting Motorhead

Cant wait for them to blow the roof of the Carling

I'm excited as a very excited thing about tonight... should be a good one. Well so far I've avoided all gig spoilers, although a few posts have given some minor details away! It's good getting a surprise at a Wildhearts gig - I'm hoping for a fair few newies and some electic bsides as well as a few of the standards..

Anybody got any ideas of times for bands tonight? I presume they'll need to be soon after the 7pm doors open with 3 bands on. I've never seen Wolfsbane.... I was all set to see them play the cathouse years ago around New Year, when I called to check all was on - was told he'd left to join Iron Maiden, I actually didn't believe the person on the phone. That was pre-internet days! Showing my age now!

I am excited as hell to go tonight, and in spite of the boring looking merchandise (and a bit pricey too compared to the past gigs) I shall be wearing my own tshirt, muhahaha.

Bring on endless nameless! I wish they would play weekend as well, maybe give a shout for it as they must know it if they played it in the US shows.

That was fecking amazing, i nearly wet myself when they played Urge, as i forgot they were playing i on this tour.

Worth the journey through the frost ravaged wastelands of the Garnock Valley to the freezing fog of Glasgow when they're as on form as they were last night.

In all honesty, I'd say not as good as Wolverhampton. The sound was pretty muffled (although it may have been better towards the back reconising the positioning of the PA speakers). At least we got Nita in its entirety, but no Zomboid. The band seemed in good spirits, but what really surprised me was the "less than nuclear" crowd response, which for a Glasgow gig is unusual in my experience. I just dont feel as battered and bruised as Wolves '06, The Garage '07, and Wolves '07. Ginger's guitar tuning antics were pretty amusing. If Wolves was 9/10, I'd say that The Carling was a 7.5/10.

The sound is bad at the academy in Glasgow. Seen a few gigs now at the place and it does sound very small. Bit better back from the stage a bit mind you. I did enjoy the gig mostly due to the setlist being a bit different.

There wasn't much jumping about and battering and bruising and the reason i'd say for that is the Garage holds 600 folk so when you're in there you have no choice but to be crammed in.
Carling Academy holds 2500 and was almost 3/4 full downstairs...so obviously folk were enjoying the extra room and didn't want to jump about.You could certainly hear the majority of the crowd over the band for S.O.D etc and it's not as if they didn't enjoy the gig.

Personally i'd say the ABC is the perfect Wildhearts venue(or Barrowlands).Way better than the Garage and the Academy.It holds 1250 and the gig finishes earlier cos it's a night club and its less than 3 quid for a drink.

Yes the ABC is a good venue. Saw Sonic youth play Daydream Nation a few months back and i did love the venue. The sound was very good, think the wooden roof helps the sound. Staff are polite as well.

The gig was awesome but the venue managed is absolutley dire. it was absolutley baltic in the hall, Bar prices weren't exactly welcoming either.

I'd love to see them at either Barrowlands (Again) or as someone else suggested ABC
