New Message from the Wildhearts about Earth vs

Postby burgerrock » 16th Sep 08, 11:41

Got this bulletin on myspace from the band:

Hey guys

The Wildhearts have been locked away rehearsing hard for this weeks Earth vs shows and it should definately be one for the history books.

For those coming to Helsinki - don't be late! The Wildhearts will be on stage a little earlier than bands normally are in the city due to early flights the next day. Also the magnificent (and wonderful) Conny Bloom will be opening up proceedings with an acoustic set. There is still a few tickets left for this one if you havent got them yet.

For those coming to London - Don't be late!! Doors will be at 7pm (if not a little before if we have our way), and we have two great support bands we'd love to see play to a full house. The amazing Eureka machines will be on at 7.15pm and awesome God Damn Whores will be on not long after. Tickets sold out some months ago for this one so can't help on that front.

Is the London show being filmed? The answer is - YES! There will be a pro HD multi camera shoot (More reason to get there early to secure your spot!) for a proposed 2009 DVD release.

lots of questions about t-shirts and merch at these gigs. We can confirm there will be a couple of new t-shirt designs including a special "15 year anniversary" t-shirt.
We'll also have a new shiney 15 year anniversary hood & poster too, along with cds, badges, stickers and the usual bits n pieces!

So there we go

Counting down the days!

Love The Wildhearts x

Pro HD? Consider a Blu-Ray release too then if that's not overly expensive...

It might have been cool for them to try and webcast it too - it wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility if they've already got all the stuff there to film it.

*tries to stifle excitement a bit*

*fails*

I'm hoping they're gonna be bringing out those metal smileybone badges again, I've had two and lost both of the buggers, through the years and Mummy Sarc god bless her has sent me some pocket money all the way from Lanzarote just so I can have a "Damn good night at the merch stand!" and not have to worry about anything.

Not sure they'll be doing penny sweets that night though.
Did you just say "Pig Flute"?

Never been to Shepherds Bush before - unfortunately I'm stuck with a level 3 ticket - can anyone who's been there before confirm if there's a merch stand up on level 3?

All great news indeed. I posted a while back hoping this gig would be officially recorded for dvd. So I'm well chuffed.
However, regarding the merchandise. I hope the poster and t shirts etc will be available to buy online for the benefit (such as me) of those people not going to the gig/s.
I wonder what the cds will be, just regular WH cds or something new/special?

Time to smash open my piggy bank in case there's any good stuff. It's not like anyone's got to worry about money at the minute... :D

Is that a topical reference to the alleged credit crunch thats happening?

I have one thing to say about that, I think it's all complete bollocks, I'll believe it when I don't see any new "Nail bars" opening in every sodding highstreet.

"Well Valerie I dont have any pennies to spare but see how good my nails look,
"Yes Deirdre they look fantastic, Vegas style I believe!"
"Well spotted"

FUCK OFF.

Back on topic

Just reread the myspazz bulletin, i like the way they mention the hoodies, t-shirts cds and posters then follow it up with the words "and the usual bits and pieces", what? y'mean like Hoodies, t-shirts cds and posters? Reckon the Wildhearts Myspace elves where a bit pissed when they posted that?

I'm with you on the nail bars. Tsk!!

As for merch, perhaps they've gone the Backyard Babies route of sticking their logo on everything imaginable - on this tour they've had socks, playing cards, shoes, underwear, outerwear, tracksuits, patches, badges, plectrums, 15 different flavours of t-shirt... I only wanted a cd!

The merch stand for the upper levels is usually in the foyer, with a stand at the back of the standing area also.

I wrote off my prized Smileybones badge at a gig I played at a couple of weeks ago. I was loading in and the bugger flipped right off me, pins in all directions.

Lovely badges but poorly made I fear.
