don't really know where to start so i'll make it short and sweet. Was ace to meet everybody it's turning into one of those big family parties when there's meetups lilke these - people from every corner of your life emerge! Kev - I'm really sorry, i will remember your name and face together from now on - promise! everybody else *waves*

Gig was ace - Eureka Machines were fantastic as usual, and it was ace hearing all those wildhearts songs you never thought you'd ever hear live again! Fab hearing Show a Little Emotion live for the first time!

faffed for a while after the gig, and then headed to the car via kebab shop chips and strange people making comments about my skirt, then headed home, thanks to really really really difficulthotel cocking up and not having a hotel room for us - bastards!

am vaguely scared by the amount that cameras were pointed at me - but since i couldn't get a girly large tee, i guess being in the dvd lots will make up for it

Ah, the mic that functioned so badly that Ginger and CJ shared CJ's Paul-and-George-style for some songs? And then you threw it back on stage and Ginger *almost* caught it...

Hey, in that case you were shortly behind me! I'd say we were well represented at the front. Trudi, Ila, Rob and I were right at the barrier for the best part of the gig. Jase, Mike SonicShaker, Andy B, Chris, my3dtvtan, Dario and friend were in the 2nd/3rd row. (my3dtvtan - hope you didn't suffer too much behind me, had to push back now and then, my back was killing me... I'm getting too old for this.)

Also met Sarc and Cartoon Dinosaur Girl (Denise?), Tiggie, beerofthedark and friend, Damian (hope your hand gets better soon!), Ean, Yugo and another bunch of boardies that was introduced to me as "guys" by Ila. (Oh, and was it Joe Dimmer that handed me a flyer? I'm used to him with more and slightly redder hair, makeup and usually some leopard skin clothing item... it only just dawned on me where I knew the face from.)

It was as usual a great pleasure meeting all of you and a worthwhile gig. Not the greatest I've seen them (mostly in terms of sound) but well played by a happy smiley band, an audience up for it (judging from the crush and the cheering) and a truly special setlist (album in original running order - as long as Ginger didn't mess up - plus all the B-sides but no further encore) made this a fine evening. And I take comfort in thinking that should they actually release this on DVD, I'll either be visible or great effort will have gone into editing me out of all audience pans.

Although you almost have to feel sorry for them, it seems whenever a gig is set up to be something special, they have technical difficulties galore.

It's all RnR I guess.

(Oh, by the way, got a setlist of the album part, and for obvious reasons it's the most pointless setlist I ever got at a gig.)

Sorry for spamming to (partially) wrong topic, but I think is the best place to share some memories from the very special night. The video sums up my feelings pretty well. I'm cool and I'm doing it! Yes, it was an awesome gig!

Seems that they didn't play any 'extra songs' in London. It was "just" the album (Miles Away Girl and Headfuck changed their places -"imagine that your iPod plays shuffle") and all ten b-sides (inc. Caffeine Bomb) in Helsinki, too.

The merch in Helsinki was the only disappointment: One or two t-shirts and three cds...

Thoughts:

1 - Lots of people I knew... good to catch up

2 - Eureka Machines... couple of Ok songs... think that playing heavy makes it better... wrong...

3 - God Damn Whores... waste of 30 minutes of my life... no songs... not funny... not clever... absolutely craptastic

4 - Wildhearts - great to hear some of those songs again... makes me realise how the recent material is SO much weaker

5 - Crap sound in the Empire... not sure how this happens as it has perfect acoustics... every time I see them Ginger complains about sound problems... maybe it is time to see if it is the band that has the problem not the equipment. Ginger said they had it extra loud out front and could not hear on stage... well that IS a problem... should always ensure that you can hear on stage...

6 - DVD - they'll need to do some over dubs or it'll sound little better than a home recording...

Overall: good but I hope lessons have been learned.

Bad sound / equipment trouble aside.... it was a great gig, and Ginger and co. seemed to be genuinely enjoying themselves.

No stories as such but saw some of the 'listees/forumites' but as usual to shy to say hello!

Tigge - where'd you go? I went back to hang out with you some more but you'd vanished (the reason I had to dart off is a long story and i'll fill you in later). I'm glad you got to go though and was even more glad to give you that standing ticket

Set was blinding. Ended up squashed down the front but it was well worth it

cried like the girl that I am for the last two songs of the night as it all got a bit emotional for me. A special SPECIAL gig and I'll never forget it (especially not when I get to buy the DVD )...but in seriousness...it was magic.

Great gig as per usual from the 'hearts. It's just a shame I don't like Shepherds Bush as a venue. Just a personal thing I guess but every gig i've been to there has had pretty crappy sound.

Did anyone else think it was odd being at a gig and knowing the exact setlist? Just seemed strange in my head.

Not as good as last years Astoria masterpiece but still looking very much forward to the DVD.

Oh, and I really liked Eureka Machines. Thought they were much better than the Goddamn Whores who were still ok but I thought the occasion deserved a better support. I know Jon has the Wildhearts connection but still...

Wel my body survived the night, my voice however is a different story.

DaveJNick and I came to the conclusion it's the only gig we've been to that we didnt mind knowing the setlist, he also pointed out that it was an enviromentally friendly show as they didnt need to use to any paper for the setlists therefor saved trees and that was also why they where using green lights.

The pub before hand was just a liddle bit kerazee with daves flake in a pint, spastic bags, someone else dinner, multiple personality confusion (cheers you two you know who you are) being slightly freaked out by some lass waving at me and bouncing over to talk to me when I had no idea who she was then realising it was VickyP (sowwee ).

Just remember though all in all its just another prick up your hole............apparently.

Absolutely superb night...Eureka Machines were brillliant as usual...I have to agree that aside from RJPs humour, the Goddamn Whores were largely dissapointing for me; shame really coz I love the album. And the wildies were brilliant; even if the sound was a bit off at times, and Ginge got the setlist mixed up a couple of times lol.
All in all, lived up to my high expectations, and I cant wait for the DvD to come out
