Wildhearts alternative setlist

Postby Jason_scorching_past » 24th Sep 08, 14:39

I would be very happy if The Wildhearts played a set something like this -

Just In Lust
V-day
Splattermania
The Sweetest Song
Give the Girl a Gun
Do the Channel Bop
It's All Up to Me
Fired Up
Got it on Tuesday
Bang!
Inglorious
Underkill
Carmelita
29 x The Pain

What do you guys think, any you would replace?

good call on "it's all up to me," that's the highlight of TWMBD for me.
IF THERE'S A SOUND YOU PLAY THAT DOESN'T FIT TODAY,
WHY NOT JUST PLAY THE BASTARD ANYWAY?!

It's a good setlist...though I'd want to see Two-Way Idiot Mirror in there (was a joy to hear that the other night as it's long been a favourite of mine) and also I'd love to see them do Pissjoy with a chorus of kids singing with them....

Yeah same here, I like that chugging guitar during the chorus.

v-day is totally due a return , don't think tis been out since they played as a 3 piece between keds and jef stints..

sweetest song i think they tried live once but it was hard for ginger to keep time (?)

just in lust and splattermania turn up once in a rare while

inglorious was a staple of the sg5 set , and carmelita was played at the bulldog bash this year - am hoping it'll be back in december

most of the rest have turned up in gingers solo sets he played with random and stidi

underkill was aked about in an 'ask ginger' a way back and he said they were keen on it , i think sometimes its too similar to caprice so gets edged out the set byt that but thats been rested for a while ..

i can't imagine them ever playing 29x the pain tho ....

If i was to pick an alternative setlist it would be

Nexus Icon
Fugazi(Do the Fake)
S.I.N
Carmelita
World Comes Tumblin
Sky Chaser High
Unbroken
Loveshit
V Day
Anthem
Hate the World Day
Dreaming in A
.....................
British All American Homeboy Crowd
Soul Searching on the Planet Earth
29x the Pain

I'd also love to see them throw in something like Sitting at Home. It'd go down quite well i think.

Yeah that could be cool, to give CJ a bit of love. "Soul Searching..." - I had forgotten about that song, it's not on my ipod and I knew I was missing something from FFL.

Really, the Wildhearts could get away with dropping quite a few staples from the live set and mixing it up a bit. It's not like they are a band that particularly needs to play "the hits" as such.

They should do one of those week of shows where they play a different album in its entirety each night

Unbroken is a quality tune, I was chuffed to fuck when they opened with it on the last tour.

I wouldnt mind hearing a bit of Turning American live but Ginger slagged the hell out of it on his last solo tour saying the lyrics were a bit silly cos he wrote it when he was a lot younger and times have changed.

I'd like to see them rip the arse out of Schitzophonic

....and yeah I agree with using Getting It as a set closer.

It already has at least twice that I know of, I diddnt actually like it live, it sounds good on the album but it diddnt really suit a festival headline slot.
