Is your fave singer different to your fave frontman?

Just wondering if like me, you fave singer is different to your fave frontman.

Fave singer - Chris Cornell (studio, not live)
Fave frontman - Bruce Dickinson


However, as I sit and type this, I've realised this changes depending on my mood.

One of my fave singers is James Hetfield (but I really dont like Metallica at all).

Hes about the only one who doesnt crop up on both lists
A frontman isnt just about voice, so I'd have to give Ginger the nod there. Also Biff Byford, Bob Catley, Lemmy, Bruce Dickinson...

Naaah, Hetfielld is aboput the only exception to my list

On a side note I tend to find that the singer is what makes me like or dislike a band (above guitars etc)

A frontman is a different animal to a singer, but it helps if he can hold a tune of course

Yes. Favourite singer is probably Ben Folds. Favourite frontman of all time is Tony Wright from Terrorvision, without a shadow of a doubt.

Favourite singer and frontman for me is Freddie Mercury.

Ginger is my favourite frontman, and he's earned that title through an amalgamation of all his talents - singing, guitar, bass, other instruments, songwriting, stage presence, and production. But that doesn't mean I am in any way under the illusion that he's the best singer.

I may give that title to a guy like Butch Walker for his recent work.
