Kerbdog played the Barfly in Camden in August. It was part of a Kerrang week of gigs, had sold out before I'd heard about it, and I ended up having to ebay it, but it was more than worth it. Seeing a band you loved who never made it big play a one off reunion show that's not really going to make them significant money just for the hell of it is quite unusual, but a great experience.
From what the gig announcement says, it sadly looks like the Rachel Stamp gig is a one off, but the upside is that, like the Kerbdog gig, it should be packed with people for whom the night means as much as it does to yourself. Whenever I've seen Rachel Stamp in the Midlands, it's always been half empty and a muted response, and for a band that worked so hard, were so good and unique, that must have been pretty depressing, so it's preferable to have the one off celebratory gig in my opinion....which is why I could never move too far from London, I'd miss too many special shows that you can't get elsewhere.
I now have my ticket, so you can all rush out and buy them.
