Hey! I'm from Ashington, which is 16 miles North of Newcastle!!! Cold.

Good to hear the old 'Raw Power' show mentioned there. That was where I first became aware of Ginger. He was being interviewed while still in the Quireboys. I bought 'There She Goes again' with Ginger's barnet looking like Rula Lenska's on the cover.

First heard / saw the Widhearts supporting The Manics at Newcastle Riverside in Feb 1992. Bought Mondo 'white vinyl 12" when it came out and have been hooked ever since

Im from South Wales too
First heard Lovebank and only bothered to learn the name of the band thinking Id find the song again easily enough...multiple albums later I learnt it was called Lovebank and wasnt on many albums...but it was Vanilla Radio that confirmed I liked the band after hearing it a few days after Lovebank...

im an essex lad me!! although i dont admit to that often.
the first wildhearts song i heard was 'Caffine Bomb' it was on a free cd with Kerrang when it first came out and apart from liking the odd song on the way, i really liked ' i wanna go where the people go' when it came out, the first wildhearts album i bought was Endless, Nameless after seeing 'Anthem'on top of the pops, and liked the album so much i went and bought all the other albums, although Endless, Nameless still remains my favourite

I live in Leicester but have Geordie roots and definately a life long NUFC supporter.

Anyway, the first song I heard was Nothing Ever Changes on the amateur section of Raw Power back in 1991 ?

Bought Mondo on white vinyl then went to see them support Izzy Stradlin at Rock City, totally hooked ever since.

I'm from Blyth in Northumberland originally. Now in the Deep South of Bishop Auckland (County Durham)

First song I heard by them was 'Greetings from Shitsville' and I can remember that I was in the car in a huge queue headed for the Leeds Festival. The cd belonged to my oldest son.
My life has never been the same........

Am I the first non-Englishman to respond to this? I'm from right outside Boston, Massachusetts in the US.

I wanted to hear The Wildhearts when I found out that Devin Townsend played a couple of gigs with them. I downloaded the first three songs that I found, Vanilla Radio, 29x The Pain, and My Baby is A Headfuck. I've been hooked for the past 4-5 years.

From Sunderland.

First Wildhearts song would have been Turning American.

I bought 'Don't Be Happy...Just Worry' as the Fella playing bass on it used to work in Kings Music in Sunderland, where I spent a very happy week on Works Experience when I was 15. Been hooked ever since.
