Bands with "mascots"

Postby seventieslord » 21st Aug 07, 06:12

The Wildhearts are one of a few bands I can think of that have a recurring "mascot" - a symbol that appears on many of their releases. Obviously in the WIldies' case I am referring to the smileybones.

Monster magnet has the Bullgod, that big bull with the massive horns.

Megadeth has that skull guy, I don't know its name.

Even Incubus has the creepy-looking moustache dude who looks like a 70's porn star.

What other bands have a similar theme?

Well, either GATSC or the Wildies get the Panda Bear now, right?

Megadeth's is called Vic Rattlehead.

Iron Maiden - Eddie
Whitesnake - have the snake on most releases

Motorhead had that sort of metallic boar thing - can't even remember which album it started on now, but it turns up on lots of them

Victor Rattlehead

Iron Maiden have Eddie, Manowar have the metal king and Hammerfall (Swedens manowar) have one called Victor.

I reckon Eddie is the king of mascots. He's like the 6th (or 7th now) member of Maiden. Vic & Smileybones haven't appeared on every release (the only Manowar I know of is that ridiculous anthology cover where they're naked and one of them has his hand in a ferret, so I couldn't comment on that).

Never saw that one,
but I was talking about a bunch of their albums have quite similar backgrounds with the same warrior figure

If I had the time I'd probably Photoshop some sort of terrifying panda/smileybones hybrid thing.

Erm.. can't actually think of any other bands that haven't already been mentioned. Hrm.
