Gave me a drumstick many years ago. Nice bloke, ace drummer, will be sadly missed.

Read about this on C4 teletext.

Saw 3CR several times and have all their records, even though I always thought they were very overrated. But I met Keith a couple of times and he was always chatty and really friendly and approachable. Had a good long talk with him on the reunion tour about the "last" gig at the Leeds festival. He seemed a good bloke.

My best wishes & respect to his family and friends.

Just by chance I was listening to Pure on the way home from work. Remember thinking the drums are fucking amazing and Keith put in some amazing fills and had hit the shit out of them too.

Keith was one of the best drummers in rock and a great chap too.

I'm totally gobsmacked, by the news and my thoughts go out to his family and friends.

It's taken me til now to post on this, cos 3CR were, along with The Wildhearts, the first band that I bought EVERYTHING by, the first band that I went to see on EVERY tour.

And I still have no idea what to say.

Except that he was always friendly and willing to chat to the fans, and the beat on all of those songs was fucking SOLID.

Can't pay a better tribute to a drummer than that, can you?

RIP Bud
How dare you!

Keith's blog has been updated following new information:
'Our much loved friend Keith Baxter died peacefully on the 4th January 2008 in the Royal Lancaster Infirmary from a Gastro-intestinal Haemorrahage aged 36. He was surrounded by his loving family. Keith's partner Rachel, twin Garry and brothers Kev and Neil would like to thank everyone for their kind messages and support at this tragic time. Rachel say's ''Keith's sudden death has left us all in shock and words cannot express the how much he meant to us all. He was a loving, kind, gentle and talented man who lived life to the full and who's sensitive soul touched many people.'' '
Those of us who had the pleasure of sharing part of his life with him will hold the memories close to our heart and part of him will always be with us.

Edit - Ben Harding has made a post on the Kerrang! message board - Use the link Ben Wright provided - Some comedian has also posted on their under the name Kieth Baxter and made comment requesting that people "buy our music so our family can have some money as they are really upset at the mo and this will make them feel alot better".

That would make more sense when put in conjunction with the status thing Ginger had on myspace the other week when he said how he hoped people's new years resolutions were to stop drinking followed by RIP Keith (or was it Keith RIP...memory's rusty)

Sad to hear, was a huge 3cr fan for a good while and saw them live probably more than any other band. Including their last gig at reading festival (before reform anyway) which was great :D

3CR had one of the best debut albums in a long time, always hoped they'd be able to match it again but never really happened :(

RIP
