If any one is thinking of going (and you bloody well should be) make sure you get there early as the Scaramanga 6 are on first - I saw them last night in Oxford and they were brilliant. Started off with 3 songs from the new album - all excellent with that wonderful touch of weird.

I'm going, but there don't seem to be advance tickets which is a little worrying for someone travelling half the length of the country to get there. I guess we turn up early and hope for the best?

Yes we just have to try and get there in time really. Then again I don't think they like to turn punters away either AND it is a pub so if you are early you can entertain yourself.

As I understand it the venue is pretty much 'pay to play' all the bands are friends so it should be more like a family gathering than your standard seetickets style gig. I saw something somewhere about it being cheaper (by a quid) if you have a flyer from one of the bands but haven't seen any flyers yet but at £6 for four brilliant bands it must represent the best value entertainment possible.

Can't wait for this one! I think there are going to be rather a lot of familiar faces from the 12 Bar Club on Saturday at this gig - and not just in the bands.

What a brilliant night out in a baking hot Camden Town. Despite The Loyalties being a no show, we still had a great time. The Scaramanga six came on at half eight and were magic, new songs sounded as tight as the old and the later start meant more late comers got to hear them. Shush were pretty good - never heard them before but she can really sing, mostly their own stuff but made room for a blinding cover of Blondie's Call Me.

I can't really say any more about the Eureka Machines that I haven't said on this board before - great songs - great performance and lovely people.

We had a fantastic time, got there really early, so had a cider or five beforehand, so was in a very very good mood.

Was very very impressed with Scaramanga Six, will definately be checking them out again. Shush were ok, but very scary guitarist, looked like he'd lost a tenner and found a penny, ha ha.

Eurekas were normal, brilliant selves. The blokey who couldn't play the maraccas was well into it again - the same bloke who couldn't play the tambourine at Ginger's sol gig in Worcester last year.

What happened to the Loyalties though? We'd come all the way from Leicester to see Eurekas AND Loyalties.

Still, went home happy that we'd seen Scaramangas and Eurekas

I was about a mile away and unable to attend, because I was at the 30th birthday party of two friends - a couple, one of whom had her birthday last week while his follows this week.

One of the bands supposed to play was a no show there too, but another band called Molloy did play and they were brilliant - they can be found at ... erm ...

...but I digress. Glad the show was good! I believe Chris is in Argentina now for Sisters duty. Guy's a trouper.

Hi,

just want to apologise to anyone that came to see The Loyalties on Saturday. Tom and I were stranded in Copenhagen after a flight mix-up... which ended up in me being stuck there until Monday night!

The flight that I was supposed to get out ended up having to do an emergency landing after we had a 'bird strike' and lost an engine just after we took off. It was probably the scariest half-hour I've ever had on a plane!

Anyway, we'll try to figure out a way to make up for this, although by all accounts it was a storming gig anyway!

cheers,
Rich

Cheers Rich, that's a good enough reason for me.

You'll be like Mr T or Dennis Bergkamp now then, needing knock out drops to fly in the future.

Catch you soon

For those, including Rich  , who missed the gig you'll be able to hear all the good bits on the next episode of The Paranoid Rockshow due to hit the internet around 8'o clock (BST) Saturday morning.

Hello

I was at the venue too.
It was a fantastic night despite The Loyalties were not there.

I had to leave the venue by 10:30pm for my final train, but I managed to check the first 4 songs from EM inc their brand new tune.

It was interesting to see the view : Chris was checking SM6 seriously in the crowd. He was doing a thunderous applause at the end (Steve was also checking EM with smiling).

How many people on this board are into Scaramanga Six? They were absolutely highlight for this event and I saw some of their massive fans there - but they wondered how I got their t-shirts in advance!

Why not checking their classic album "The Dance Of Death" (and also their brand new album "Songs Of Prey") produced by legend Tim Smith.Yes,Tim Smith!
