it started a little dodgy with fantasies about Donna Summer,
then went onto Electric Ligth orchestra (the musical influence not the fanasies)
Sad Cafe
Led Zeppelin
Aerosmith
Warrior Soul
Queensryche
Wildhearts
I'm still mad about most of these bands now but not so much the first two metioned.

Bandswise growing up it was (in order of geeting obsessed):
Iron Maiden
The Almighty
The Wildhearts
but special mention has to go to GnR for Appetite.. cos hearing that on my older bro's stereo turned me on to heavy rock/metal.

Here's a list of all the bands that I loved until I turned 18. I have missed a lot of bands that I love off this list but they don't count if I didn't discover them until adultihood ;-)

Smashing Pumkpins
Metallica
Nirvana
Soundgarden
Paradise Lost
Oasis
Foo Fighters
Bush
Wildhearts
Manic Street Preachers
Offspring
Feeder
3 Colours Red
In an ideal world there'd be no time for ideals.

First post ever (anywhere)

For all but a very few bands/artists I have a rule - first three albums are best. As i am probably one of the oldest here my enthusiasms started in the 60's. In no real order except that the first was the first:-

Edgar Broughton Band (listen to Evil or Gone Blue - amazing)
Bowie
Dylan
Terry Reid
Clash
Neil Young
Clinic
Rammstein
Hendrix
Nick Drake
Small Faces/Faces/Ronnie Lane/Humble Pie
Johnny Winter
Kinks
Bonzo's
Appliance
Clearlake
God Speed You Black Emperor
Ruts
Th' Legendary Shack Shakers
Sensational Alex Harvey Band
Ramones
and of course Ginger/Wildhearts
Blimey but I am tired
