The final point is also the reason I've taken an instant dislike to you as the only two bands you were positive about are coincidentally the two most popular, poppy, uninspired, "sell-out" (tho i don't like the expression usually I think it fits those two bands perfectly) bands on the list, hence I doubt you actually fit the bill of my wishful thinking final thought on open-minded fans at all.

Looking forward to the angry bitchy comments from assmask and whomever else always picks apart my every post on here :)

Well, that was the point of the exercise I guess.

You love terrorvision but think AC/DC have "1 or 2" great songs?

Why's that so hard to understand?

Sadly you sound like exactly the kind of moronic tasteless fool I was hoping wasn't really among the wildhearts fanbase.

Ooooh!

And the wildhearts do fit in to the whole sleaze rock scene. Fuck knows what "britrock" scene you're thinking of with whom the wildhearts would be considered contempories. Only "britrock" bands i can think of to lump them in with are terrorvision and the manics. Possibly therapy, although they're arguably more underrated and unpopular than the wildies.

Around the time, yes, Terrorvision, the Manics, Skunk Anansie, Apes, Pigs and Spacemen, Three Colours Red, Kerbdog, Joyrider, Therapy?, all those bands in the mid-90s that I really liked.

Imo bands like buckcherry, gluecifer, hellacopters share far more of the imaginative, fuck-you attitude, big riffs, catchy melodies and funny/biting/scathing lyrics with the wildies then metallica do, or tequilavision?

Imo the Wildhearts/Ginger are a great band with a huge range of songs, excellent songwriting and clever lyrics. Buckcherry, hellacopters, Backyard Babies et al are one trick ponies and pretty boring after one song. I like variety.

The final point is also the reason I've taken an instant dislike to you

That's a shame, I'm quite nice really.

the only two bands you were positive about are coincidentally the two most popular, poppy, uninspired, "sell-out" (tho i don't like the expression usually I think it fits those two bands perfectly) bands on the list,

Metallica and Terrorvision I guess... Well I'd hardly call either of them sell-outs... They just did what they wanted to, I don't recall any moment when they compromised what they were in order to pander to what was "expected" of them, which I the biggest laugh of all when Metallica are concerned, they can do exactly what they like, and do. Some "fans" who only like thrash metal seem to hate them for trying new things, but hey ho... The biggest sell-out they could have perpetrated would be to not be true to what they wanted to do. Or maybe it's to do with the whole Napster thing. How terrible that a big band could want to prosecute people who stole from them. Music should all be free shouldn't it? But then how would any get made?

hence I doubt you actually fit the bill of my wishful thinking final thought on open-minded fans at all.

When it comes to open-mindedness, well, in the last few months I've watched Josiah, a stoner rock band, been to a performance of Handel's Messiah and watched a great new indie band called Misty's Big Adventure, I've also been to many local bands' gigs too... I've been listening to PJ Harvey, Tori Amos, Soundgarden, Manu Chao, Buena Vista Social Club and Tom Waits. But no, I'm not open minded.

Ps. i'll check the site in a week or two. Looking forward to the angry bitchy comments from assmask and whomever else always picks apart my every post on here :)

You seemed to miss the big smiley at the end of the post in response to yours. It wasn't an attack, I just wanted to see if your list worked for me... But you had to go and be rude.

Bang! wrote:These are the sort of bands i might expect a lot of wildhearts fans to also like, ones I might recommend to wildhearts fans and certainly bands i'd associate in one way or another with the wildhearts if i listened to them:

Backyard babies
Love em! have all the albums.

Buckcherry
Love 'em more! have all the albums.

Gluecifer
Love em a lot. Have all the albums.

Baby chaos
Heard a bit, they're not bad but it didn't make me want more.

Therapy?
They're worth at least owning a best-of... which I do.

Hellacopters
Love them. I cry myself to sleep eveny night knowing they're breaking up. Have all the albums, EPs, and Cream of the Craps.

Rancid
I have the one "essential" album and it's good but overall they're just not my scene.

Silver sun
Have heard three of their albums now, quite good, a bit interesting, but I haven't been compelled to buy them.

Beautiful creatures
Have two mp3's, love 'em both. It never went further than that.

Terrorvision
Haven't heard enough to say for sure, but I hear they're like Therapy.

Hardcore superstar
Never heard 'em.

3 Colours red
Don't see what all the fuss is about.

Randy
Never heard of 'em.

AC/DC
Love 'em. Have every studio and live album.

Turbonegro
They're interesting. Have sampled mp3's but never bought.

Guns 'n' roses
Have all albums. They rock.

Motley crue
Worth owning a best-of.

Tokyo dragons
Don't know 'em.

Metallica
Co-#1 band with the Wildhearts.

Yo-yos, honeycrack and other dodgy side-projects and spin-off bands
Have 'em all, at least the ones that are fronted by a Wildhearts member, love 'em all, the best being The Yo-Yo's and Honeycrack, and the least interesting being Jackdaw4.

On the other hand i'd hope wildhearts fans are a lot more open minded than that and have more varied and eclectic tastes which incorporate everything from jazz to blues to dark metal to hip-hop etc :)

I don't know how diverse this really makes me, but I like Classical, more off the wall things like Rammstein and NIN, Rap artists like Outkast and Eminem, also Prodigy, Fischerspooner and The Streets, and old jazz like Louis Armstrong.

[b]Hopefully I passed the test! :D
