spoon_of_grimbo wrote:this is kinda relavent to the topic, and i didn't think it was worth starting a new topic for, but some guy on another forum i use is doing a competition thing for the best Winter-Themed playlist. i made one and medafire'd it, i figured i'd post it here if anyone wants to download it, there's quite a variety of stuff on there, but at least some of it should appeal to everyone.

MOD EDIT - Link removed 'cos we don't want to be getting into naughty filesharing shenanigans

@ the mod: i see that since you've added the tracklisty thing after it, you must've downloaded it yourself before removing the link? haha! but yeah fair enough, if anyone actually wants the link, PM me your email, and i'll send the link.

Dig - Unlucky Friend

Go to track 4 on the player thing.

Also be shure to check out Belive (the only vid of them I can find)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWeehnYPP18

Awesome grungey anthemic band that my tatto artist actually recamended to me. He said hes seen them 6 times and they palyed a few big uk festivels back in the day. If you like what you hear I HIGHLY recammend you get the album off Amazon for a PENNY as I did. You cant go wrong.

I actually thought Unlucky Friend or Belive would make a great addition to Stop Us If Youve Heard This One Before Vol. 2
Interviewer - "So whats the secret of your longevity?"

3. Alice in Chains - "Heaven Beside You"
Mellowing out a bit after the first coupla tracks, the whole "coldest winter chill" line, along with the fact that this is a really great and underrated AiC song, made me want to include it.

.

That is a great AIC song I agree. I am missing so many great songs from in my itunes library I know I have this one somewhere. I reckon you could say a lot of their songs sound wintery.

Another AIC one I like -Grind -

A definite wintery song - Bush - Glycerine (the violins especially)

Hey, glad you like it! I haven't been able to find much about the band but I guess it just proves if the band has good songs it really doesn't matter. Love 'em!

Crawly bumlick time, though sadly I can't find a link for it anywhere but if you can find a track called 1,000 of an album called Down to the Filter by a band called Gods Favourite (or Favorite to you resident Merkins) Band who I reckon sound a cross between early Soul Asylum and The Replacements which considering where they're from shouldnt come as a surprise.

one of the members is our very own BennyMpls from this here board
Did you just say "Pig Flute"?

TRUSTcompany - "Downfall"
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=8j-TW6OJyog

these guys kinda got unfairly lumped in with a lot of shit nu-metal bands, when they are in fact more of a rock band with a few nu-metal influences. i heard most of their album in a mate's car back when it came out (2002ish i think) and i remember it being REALLY good. gonna order it off amazon as soon as i have a few spare quid.
