Arse. I probably won't be able to go then if it is Friday for Leeds.

Damian wrote:This works well because we can flyer the heck out of the mob waiting for the arena gates to open on Sunday,

Exactly, Sitting ducks!

Damian wrote:not having the ballache of walking past the security with bags full of flyers.

Is that a ballache? I didn't have a problem last time I took flyers to a festival. But then I don't have balls (not literally) so this might have something to do with getting past security. Smile sweetly, and be a lot weirder than they are prepared to bother with.

Damian wrote:Also d) this means they're not on at the same time as, say, Metallica. Last year if you weren't the Pumpkins or Klaxons, nobody watched you on Sunday night. I know this because I watched The Hold Steady play to a near-empty tent.

Last year I was watching the Pumpkins, but they were so disappointing that I left to watch the Hold Steady. There wasn't an empty tent in Leeds - they were fantastic. After they'd finished I went back to the Pumpkins and half the audience had gone. Sad. I saw them 10 years earlier at Glasto and they were supernaturally good. not anymore. Saw the Hold Steady again last month and they were fantastic again. I ♥ the Hold Steady. And Eureka Machines, obviously. I hope the weather's good for 'em.

To be honest, I got flyers in once for another band (can't even remember who they were now, I was street teaming) but they do check bags and they could possibly say no. But it'll be nice to just leaflet the heck out of the crowd then go in and spend the day in non-working fun-having mode.

Looks like Eureka Machines are actually first on. I like to call it the "follow that" slot. The BBC Introducing Stage (at Reading) is at the rear of the main stage area, directly facing it. I WILL be dragging people in, kicking and screaming. Kicking me when I drag them in and screaming when Eureka Machines leave the stage.

On this here page you can now find downloadable/printable flyers for the Reading/Leeds appearances (to try and get people to go to the tent on the day), flyers for the September/October tour and finally a poster advertising the album and a space to write in the appropriate gig that the poster's being used to promote (if that makes sense).

Have fun! If anyone has problems with viewing/printing them, let me know.

I just got back home from a work trip and was very happy to see that the album is now available to those of us overseas. My order has been placed. Thanks

Indeed. It's been done in an unusual way - the album looks like it's £1 more expensive but it's not - between the £1 on that and the small surcharge on the postage it adds up to the £2.50 or so that covers airmail shipping... hope you enjoy it!

I knew I meant to put something on here, but you've already spotted it so that's cool.

Four stars... in... The Sun!

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sh ... 560823.ece

And they've only gone and compared them to Silver Sun. Who are pretty much the best band in the world ever.

Reading/Leeds update: the band's set is from 12:30 to 12:55. Every band gets 25 minutes and from what I can tell the order was pretty much random.

You should now be able to walk into any record shop and say "give me a copy of the Eureka Machines album NOW, please, young man/lady (delete as applicable)"...

Hooray!

Anyone know if the Eureka Machines' set at Reading / Leeds was taped and/or broadcast on the BBC? If so, does anyone have the footage? Would be great to see!

It was filmed at Leeds. It's a shame it's on the BBC Introducing site, although they have put some photos up.

I contacted them to see if they might get some footage up there, but no reply as yet.

Zavvi and HMV should be able to order it in for you if they don't have it in stock. They both had it available on their websites when I looked.

In other news, that launch night was far too much fun for a school night. I should have booked today off! 8)

Bit of a news update here. In a nutshell, Eureka Machines are planning to play a load of gigs in January and February (around the release of "Everyone Loves You" as a single), so if you want to put them on, or know someone that would, get in touch!
