I haven't got round to Million Dead yet.The only reason i heard of Frank is because i read about him on The Levellers message board.Heard a few of their songs on YouTube though.

million dead are obv. a much heavier proposition than frank's solo stuff, but i've got "harmony no harmony" and it's an amazing album (what i've heard off "a song to ruin" is great too, but i haven't seen for a sensible price anywhere for ages!). and if you've ever worked a shit job, you'll find yourself singing the last lines of "to whom it may concern" every time you hear them - "I'M ONLY WORKING HERE, COS I NEED THE FUCKING MONEY!!!"

and to the guy above who mentioned the new manics album, i listened to my flatmate's copy earlier, and "imperial bodybags" has to be one of their best songs in AGES!

also a bit of a question for anyone who's heard them, what's the best album by New Model Army to start off with? i'm thinking of getting "addicted to hopeless causes" because i've heard the song "white light" which i LOVE, but what's the album like as a whole?

If you've heard White Light just buy that album.
I've only got their best of(History) and if you buy that and the album you want from Amazon it'll only set you back about 13 quid.Pretty damn good it is as well.

My favourite song of theirs is 51st State...all about Britain sucking up to America before Blair dragged us even further down that road.

cool, well i've already ordered a shitload more than i can keep track of atm, but i'll probably hit up amazon again after xmas (as my family tend to give me money rather than seek out the obscure shit i'd like lol) and get those.

It's a crackin' album, Send Away the Tigers. I don't think it's a case of being back on form (I loved Know Your Enemy and Lifeblood, although for vastly differing reasons) just that they've produced a very urgent, rock'roll album for the first time in a while!!

Saw them at the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh last night they were fucking ace!!!

**listening to In Ranbows right now before the footy starts!! Teriffic record (suddenly get really fucking exciting about the Glasgow Green show next year!!**
Did you lie to us, Tony?

For Gods sake, get the album and go and see them live!
This isn't a band following the latest trend, everything is on their terms, even down to forming their own record label to release the album on as they couldn't find a deal that suited them.I believe that they were offerd a lot of deals!
When you see them live it all makes sense as they are as unhinged on stage as on record. Some member of the band WILL get seriously hurt during a gig.
I fucking LOVE this band and cannot say enough good things about them, really nice bunch of lads too.
Check 'em here www.myspace.com/tedmaul666 and here http://www.tedmaul.com/07/newsite07.html

Get down with "Londons anti-life junglistic movement"

finally got around to getting this today, and so far i'm liking it!!! some parts remind me of the first slipknot album, albeit how it would've sounded if they'd not removed the solos and let joey's death metal influence shine through a little more. still, overall it's a brutal album, and 5songs in, i'm already hooked!

i've also just ordered a metric ass-load of rocket from the crypt albums off amazon, so i've been listening to "scream dracula scream" and "rftc" to get me all pumped up for their arrival!

just got 4 albums through the post today, three by a band called Liars Academy ("Demons," "Trading my Life EP" and "No News is Good News"), who are kinda pop-punk meets indie rock, and really good. and also "24hr revenge therapy" by jawbreaker. that one's a bit rougher round the edges than i'd expected, but fucking great all the same! oh, and i also bought "13 songs" by fugazi - tis growing on me...
