The Wildhearts

So i've finally checked this band out after years of hearing about how great they are. After downloading a few tracks i was totally blown away.

I ordered a bunch of their albums from their official site, just wondering if anyone else has ordered them through there and how long the delivery, etc is.

The anticipation of getting these discs in the mail is sending me quite mad.

Absolutely amazing band.

They're really good when you order stuff through that site. I think it's a bit of a one-man operation so it's a case of getting down the post office - usually you'll wait about a week.

The stuff that's currently out of print is hopefully being reissued soon, as well as a live DVD and... deep breath... an actual new record. Tim Smith told someone last week that he had four albums worth of material!

It's a pity, if you've only just ordered them, that (presumably) you haven't been able to get a copy of Sing To God Part 1 yet. Their finest record as far as I'm concerned.

Would be great to see them reissued.

You're right, i couldn't get ahold of a copy of Sing to God pt1, but I did order pt 2 along with Heaven Born & Ever Bright, Songs for Ships and Irons and the Odd Even single.

I manage to download most of the out of print material which will have to tide me over till i can find them for an affordable price.

I believe you can still get "On Land And In The Sea" too - I'd recommend that you do!

Came up as out of stock on their site and I saw it on ebay for a starting bid of 40 US! I did download that one and enjoyed it immensely.

I live in Australia and a band like the Cardiacs is the kind of band you can luck out and find quite cheap in 2nd hand stores round here, so i'm gonna hit up a few stores next week and dig around. Heres hoping... Meanwhile i'll be eagerly checking my mail box every afternoon.

Still cant decide if I like them or not. I have "Sing..." I & II and whilst they are clever, diverse, amusing, creative etc I cant work out out if I like them. A friend managed half of part I and declared he thinks he likes them and "Its a bit like eating too much chocolate" I saw them support Wildhearst and saw Tim Smith as a solo support slot and just remain puzzled.

The Cardiacs are brilliant, I only came across them thanks to the Wildhearts. Before they'd supported the Wildies I'd never heard of the Cardiacs, now I love them to bits.

I, too, am a big Cardiacs fan. Came across them in '92 when a track of theirs, Goodbye Grace, was featured on an Organ compilation tape. It belonged to a friend of mine, I went round one day and he said, 'You've got to listen to this!' Been hooked ever since. And the reissues would be a Godsend as I have all their albums except Little Man And A House...And a live DVD? Oh yes, my friends.

I'm missing "A Little Man..." too. As for a live DVD, join the forum at www.cardiacs.org then go into the 'Pond' board for links to download a whole recent show in Brighton plus the Mare's Nest film (all with permission). A little bit of MP4 file conversion and you'll have a couple of DVDs!

If you get the MP4 files and can't find the means to convert them for DVD burning, let me know. I got the program free from www.download.com (which means no spyware or anything) and it worked a treat, but I'm not at my own PC now so I can't remember what the application was called. Most commercial application (except expensive ones) refuse to convert from MP4 to MPG as needed...

Recieved my package in the mail today. Top service, I was worried for nothing!
