No official announcments will be made until 3rd April.

Strong contenders to perform are : Alice Cooper, Kaiser Chiefs, Muse, Tool, Pearl Jam, Tool, Strokes. No mention of AC/DC as yet though.

Zane Lowe played 'whole lotta Rosie' on evening session last week and more than hinted at an AC/DC festival headline this year.
If that is the case,I'm having a large slice of that!

Ooooo, i have a slight semi on already!

however i can't see it happening. they're too rock n roll for Reading. the only reason Maiden did it is they're aimed at kids, you know. panto metal for teenage boys. the DC are a different beast entirely. mind you i wouldn't mind a day in the mud with AC/DC, TURBONEGRO, THE WILDHEARTS (Yeah, they'd do it!), THE CULT & MOTORHEAD. and maybe THE STOOGES too!

very amusing suggestion about Kiss lemo. they aren't big enough to headline the Rivermead Centre nevermind the festival itself. they need to go back in their pink coloured box and double quick

er, no

how are they big now ? even in the states their last tour was playing to half empty arenas. realistically over here in the UK they'd maybe manage one date in an arena. but apart from that, where else could they headline if they did a proper UK tour now ? maybe Hammersmith Apollo or Brixton Academy at the absolute max

they're a joke band. if they'd packed up after say Lick It Up they may have been remembered with some fondness. but all the crap since and the recent shit about replacing Ace & Peter but making their replacements where the same make up is fucking laughable

add onto that they've never really been big in the UK and thats what i meant.

whereas the DC or even Maiden can easily fill arenas here and Kiss can't. thats all

joke band? no. they might have had a gimmik but id say dressing up like a fucking schoolboy is pretty gimmiky too. kiss have written some amazing songs over the years

to me, kiss are much more of a festival band than AC/DC. the only people who would go see AC/DC would be AC/DC fans. people (other than fans) would go to see kiss not only for the music, but also for the stage show. for the same reasons i think marilyn manson is a great headliner

as for selling out arenas over here.... i dont know. if AC/DC can do it, i dont see why kiss cant. but im sure kiss have sold many, many more albums than AC/DC. id say that makes them bigger.

Lemo. is that serious ?

with Back In Black alone AC/DC have probably outsold Kiss!

its the second biggest selling album of all time with 42m copies and counting. second only to Thriller. i don't think (and you can check with the RIAA if u wish) Kiss have ever had an album thats sold more than 5m copies

it sounds like you've been listening to Gene's bullshit a bit too much!

everyone knows about ten AC/DC songs whether they're into rock music or not. Kiss wise most people just probably remember Crazy Crazy Nights from top of the pops when Paul showed his true colours and his dayglo pink and green tights

lol

in the USA alone AC/DC have sold 66m albums

Kiss have sold 19m the same as Toni Braxton

well bugger me
i stand well and truely corrected
well done for making me look a cunt!

i dont agree with the people only know one kiss song tho. i think if you asked random people what songs they knew from both groups, you would get mixed results
