These are the ones that I'm currently enjoying.

Hrm. I wouldn't rate Chris Cornell over the Wildhearts. I wouldn't even rate it over the new DT album.. But agreed, the new Manics is pretty great.

The Hold Steady 'Boys & Girls in America' - Fantastic album, rockin' music with amazing intelligent, literary lyrics about sex, drugs & the darker side of the party life. Also, I saw them in York - they were great & I had a good chat with the keyboard player Franz Nicolay who looks like Super Mario if he'd been raised in a bohemian squat in Paris. He's a top bloke!

The Wildhearts - obviously...

Ginger 'Yoni' - Probably the best pop-rock album since SG5 although for the reluctantly celibate (ie. not getting laid) such as myself its makes somewhat... frustrating listening.

The Crimea 'Secrets of the Witching Hour' - A wonderful album of sweeping, epic pop music with a kind of small-town americana vibe. Plus, its FREE & LEGAL from http://www.thecrimea.net - download it, NOW!!!

The God Damn Whores 'We Are the Lucky 13' - Mentalist pop-rock genius.

Tori Amos 'American Doll Posse' - Really hard album to describe but great to listen to. Mainly piano-driven but covers everything from stomping glam-rock to quirky pop to haunting piano ballads and pretty much everything else in between.

I expect my list will be much different by the end of the year with albums on the way from Ryan Adams, Queens of the Stone Age, Dizzee Rascal & possibly Robochrist (a rumour straight from the shiny, metal Robohorse's mouth himself - watch his-space!).

The new Devin Townsend album will most likely join the above list but I only got it this afternoon and haven't listened to much of it yet. Also, I've downloaded loads of cool old stuff but I'd be here for days if I went into that.

Hamell on Trial - Songs for Parents Who Enjoy Drugs
8/10, great, intelligent protest lyrics and funny subjects. Worth it alone for the song Coulter's Snatch.

9/10, Actually really bloody good. I was totally surprised and converted as I was expecting a cash-in tour and a sub-standard album. It drops points for She's All That and the general drop in quality of the second half of the album, but the first five tracks, and Destroy All Monsters are worth anyone's money.
Clutch - From Beale St to Oblivion
8/10, Really good album, southern-fried and tuneful with some great hammond organ work. If you like any kind of stoner rock, give it a spin.
Chris Cornell - Carry On
7/10, Only listened to it once, but it's shaping up to be pretty good... Although could have done without the MJ cover.
