Anyone remember Elviss? (the punk band - not a typo) :]

Ok arround 2003 I went to see the Murderdolls and Stone Sour gig in Manchester and the support band I remember was called Elviss.

They got booed off stage but I remeber thinking they where incredible - would of been much better suited supporting at a Wildhearts gig

Anyhoose, I manged to pick up one of their tracks SKP shortly afterwords and loved every second but I didnt have a computer at the time so I couldnt keep track of the band and then they kinda faded in to obscurety....

Remembered the song the other day and I got me thinking of what the hell happened to them :? Literally minutes of searching Google has made me even more annoyed by the constant prompting from the system that I have misspelled the word

So can anybody give me some update on the band? I presume they split up? It would be exellent if someone could PM me some MP3s of some of their tracks :D

Any info much appreciated. Even someone having herd of them would reassure me I didnt dream them up

Cheers

Well, you didn't dream them up.. and their last.fm page lists the Wildhearts and Reuben as being the most similar artists, which makes me a little intrigued.. (http://www.last.fm/music/Elviss)

Shame I can't seem to find a MySpace page. :/

yeah i remember those guys, they had a coupla other songs i saw the videos for, "d-change" and something along the lines of "kill the radio" where they were playing inside coloured cubes or something.

*looks through media player library...* oh yeah, i've got that SKP song too, on a kerrang comp i ripped from my girlfriend's cd collection, its not a bad song at all.

they were pretty good, shame if they have split up.

Yeah, I remember and saw them - they were good, while they lasted. I've seen 'em a coupla times as support bands (4 or 5 years back!?!?!?).

If memory serves, I think Drew McConnell from Babyshambles was in them.

am listening to their track "common thread" on a kerrang cd ( the one with ocd on it)

they do indeed sound quite wildheartsy- heavy guitars/shouty choruses etc it's pretty good actually.

Funnily enough, I recently rediscovered their fairly awesome 'Common Thread' song when I was listening to something else on that 2003 (?) K! Weekender CD with 'OCD' on it. I hadn't listened to the CD in years.

I was listening to a Martin Grech track on it (remember him?) and the 'Elviss' name on the tracklist rung a tiny bell that said 'Wait a minute, I think their song on this was pretty radge.' And then I put it on and then....well, you get the picture.

Anyway, great song and awesome dirty driving riff.

fancy uploading that cd on rapidshare or something? sounds like a winner judging by the bands you mentioned, and if it was a kerrang weekender, it'll be out of print so probably not too illegal to be uploading lol!

they had some kind of deal where they were backed (financially and publicity wise) by emap. drew left to join babyshambles, seem to remember they got someone in for a while but that was the end of it really. really nice guys and some good tunes, shame they never got an album out.
